A scream filled his mind as his sleep was broken. Waking in a cold sweat, Silver opened his eyes. He looked around feeling nothing out of the ordinary. Confused but tired he pulled the covers over his head and cuddled back into the soft blankets. Another yell filled his head sounding like Emerald. "Silver!" A dark image of the emeralds turning dark filled his mind causing him to wake again in a panic. Something was wrong, and he knew it. Not waiting to put on anything he ran to Emerald's room where he opened the door to find. No one. He quickly mind-linked to his brothers. "Emeralds in trouble," a sleepy Sonic answered his call. "Dude you can't just yell like that, I was in the most awesome dream..." Shadow interrupted him. "How do you know?" "I heard her screams along with a dream of the emeralds turning dark," Sonic replied. "She may be in the garden again, Shadow, and I will check over there and you check the emeralds if you want to," quickly thanking them Silver ran down the hall towards the library where Emerald showed them the secret room. Cold started to seep in as he walked closer to the painting. The opening was slightly ajar filling the library with a slight chill. Opening the door Silver shivered as a blast of cold covered him. "Silver, she's not in the garden." Sonic's worried voice filled his mind, filling him with dread. Shadow then spoke, "We also found Miss Sol and the rest of the demi-gods, they can also feel something is wrong." As Silver made his way down the stairs he quickly mind-linked his brothers telling them to come to the secret chamber. The cold seemed to get worse the further down he went, he could see his breath come out in puffs. Soon coming into the room he saw the chaos emeralds a dark black. Emerald stood in front of them, seeming unfazed by the cold that suffocated the room. "Emerald?" he quietly spoke. "What scares you, Silver?" She replied with no emotion. Silver's ears flattened to his head. The hedgehog in front of him did not sound like Emerald. Footsteps sounded behind Silver as Sonic, Shadow, and Miss Sol came up behind him. "Anyone got a warm chili dog? This place feels like a freezer!" Sonic shuddered as he hugged himself shivering. Miss Sol slowly walked up to the female hedgehog. "Emerald?" the blue hedgehog turned around, her eyes dull. "What scares you?" She repeated. The group was unnerved by her question. Silver turned to Miss Sol. "Did you know what's going on?" The startled cat did not look at him as her eyes turned to the emeralds. "I do not know but it may have to do with the emeralds and how they are connected to her," Shadow then spoke. "But the emeralds were completely fine the last time we saw them?" They all turned back to Emerald, their breaths coming in quick puffs as it seemed like the air was being frozen. Unblinking, she asked her question again. "What scares you?" The shadows almost seemed to grow making the room feel smaller Emerald shadow seemed to naturally slide on the floor as if it was its own being watching them waiting for their answer. Sonic bravely stepped forward showing his classic grin. "I'm not scared of anything, not even your little trick." Emerald only slightly tilted her head at his brave comment. Her next comment sent shivers down his back. "But yet you still fear in the back of your mind, you see him killing them over and over in your dreams, you see him make you kill... her," She looked over all four of them her eyes cold. "He haunts your dreams. Awake and asleep," Miss Sol's breath caught in her throat as Emerald turned to her almost as if she was peeling back the layers of her sol making her feel cold as she thought of her past and the fall. "So that is what you fear," her voice almost seemed to whisper, a slight hint of a darker voice echoed across the room joining with hers. Slowly the blue hedgehog raised her hands the seven emeralds following her movements. Soon the shadows cut off the light. When the light dims back behind Emerald shocks Miss Sol and the hedgehogs to their very core. Behind Emerald stands tainted versions of Heephis, Celios, and Ziolo.

Barley a whisper Emerald smiles "Let's play a game," With no time to waste Sonic yells pushing the others towards the stairs out of the room. "RUN!"
The four of them quickly rush out of the entry closing the portrait door behind them. Emerald's voice as well as the gods echo all around them.
Emerald: "Ding Dong I know you can hear me, open up the door. I only wanna play a little."
They all huddle in the middle of the library as the lights flicker. The portrait door slowly opens showing only black.
Emerald: "Ding Dong you can't keep me waiting, it's already too late for you to try and run away..."
Quickly they all hide as Emerald and the three gods follow behind her. They look around the library sensing the hedgehogs and Miss Sol. Shadow got the other three's attention and pointed to the doors signaling them to slowly move.
All: "I see you through the window, our eyes are locked together, I can sense your horror, though I'd like to see it closer,"
Seeing the door to the library open Emerald moves to the hallway and directs the three behind her to split up.
Emerald: "Ding Dong here I come to find you Hurry up and run let's play a little game and have fun, Ding Dong where is it you've gone to do you think you've won? Our game of hide and seek has just begun..."
Emerald heads down to the hedgehog's room, finding nothing. Her ears move hearing running outside the room.
All: "I hear your footsteps. Thumping, loudly through the hallways..."
Emerald: "I can hear your short breaths, you're not very good at hiding. Just wait, you can't hide from me. I'm coming. Just wait, you can't hide from me. I'm coming. Just wait, you can't hide from me. I'm coming."
Celios walks into what looks like a large study room. The hedgehogs quickly move and he spins around trying to find where they are hiding.
Celios: "Knock knock, I'm at your door now I am coming in theirs no reason to ask permission."
Heephis in another part of the long hallways walks past the demi-gods who look at him petrified. Miss Sol quickly teleports them to a room near them. As he turns around he finds them gone, slowly he goes towards the door he feels that they are hiding in.
Heephis: "Knock knock, I'm inside your room now where is it you've hid?
Three gods: "Our game of hide and seek's about to end,"
Heephis and Celios slowly reach for where they feel like they're hiding.
All: "I'm coming closer looking underneath your bed... but, you're not here I wonder. Could you be inside the closet?"
As they are discovered all the demi-gods and hedgehogs run away from their pursuers. They all run into each other and see Emerald in front of them with Heephis and Celios behind her. Again they divide up with the hedgehogs, Miss Sol, and Chaos heading towards the meeting hall. Celios quickly pursues them with a smiling Emerald watching.
Emerald: "Ding-dong, I have found you, Ding-dong, you were hiding here, Now you're it. Ding-dong, finally found you, dear. Now you're it. Ding-dong, looks like I have won. Now you're it. Ding-dong, pay the consequence. You'll pay it. Ding-dong, looks like we have won."
In the shadows Zielo watches. His eyes hold a dark natural black. He smiles watching the Chaos. And in the blink of an eye, he melts away smiling.
Emerald: "Ding Dong I know you can hear me, open up the door. I only wanna play a little..."
