The hedgehogs had been running for a while now, and even with Sonic's speed one of the gods would still manage to catch up or be around the next corner. They quickly turned a corner almost crashing into the other demy gods. "We are surrounded," Mogul said panicked. "There has to be a way we can snap Emerald out of her trance, It could be possible she is the one keeping the ghost gods in this world." Silver said trying to think. Shadow came up to the group getting their attention. "Ya, well we'll have to figure it out fast because we've got incoming," The group turned to see the Heephis and Celios heading straight towards them. Miss Sol quickly thought of a plan "Let's split up. Bunnie, Antonie, Mogul, and Chaos you go and try to distract and take out whichever god follows you. The rest of you follow me I might have an idea to undo this ." Without waiting Miss Sol ran the hedgehogs and Blaze following close behind her. "Where are we going?" Blaze said as they rounded the corner she looked back to see Celios hot on their trail. "Back to the emeralds they have a connection to Emerald they must have started all of this," Sonic quickly ran beside her giving her a shocked look. "We're going back there! Are you crazy well all be cornered," Shadow ran to the front pushing Sonic back. "It is a good explanation to stop this, if it has caused it then it should be the answer to stopping it." the small group quickly made its way to the library every so often looking back to see Celios getting closer and closer. As they made it into the library they closed the doors behind them locking it shut. "That won't hold him for long we must hurry," Blaze said as they made it to the emeralds. The room felt suffocating with the unnatural cold that surrounded them. The emeralds pulsed what seemed to be pure evil as black shadows covered their once-colorful glow. "What do we do now?" Silver asks as he eyes the deathly quiet emeralds. "Well I definitely ain't touching them," Sonic said hiding stepping back. Shadow rolled his eyes at the blue hedgehog's childish actions. Hesitantly he walked up to the emeralds. He could see no light in them now, only his reflection moved across the cracked shiny surface. Suddenly he saw something in the emerald and turned around. "Behind you," he yelled to Silver as he pushed the white hedgehog behind him. Everyone turned to see Emerald come from the shadows her blank stare watching them. "I found you," she said barely in a whisper. The group slowly backed away from the dark hedgehog waiting for what she would do next. Silver then spoke sadly looking at her. "Emerald you need to snap out of it, this is not you its the emeralds." Miss Sol slowly walked forward. "Emerald if you are in there you need to fight it, tell us how to break you free." Emerald stayed silent as Miss Sol slowly walked up to her till their muzzles were almost touching. The distressed cat looked into her apprentice's eyes looking for some sort of sign that she was fighting the dark power. The female hedgehog looked up at her meeting her eyes. Everyone was silent. Suddenly Emerald's eyes sparked a color of emotion. The blue cat quickly held the hedgehog's face in her hands hoping it would snap her out. Emerald continued to look at her, soon bringing her hands to the blue cat's own. Everyone hopeful watched as Emerald squeezed the cat's hands. Miss Sol smiled but then pain overcame her face as Emerald continued to squeeze her hands pushing them away from her. In a flash, the dark hedgehog threw her to the opposite side of the room. "Miss Sol!" Blaze yelled as she ran to the injured cat who held her hands which were now badly bruised. The Three hedgehogs frightened looked at Emerald who ran toward them ready to attack. They met her halfway grabbing at her and trying to restrain her. Pushing them away she locked onto Sonic who looked at her with worry. "Emerald you gotta fight it! I too know what it's like but you need to not let it take control of you," Emerald just snorted coming at him again and again with blasts of energy. She pushed off Shadow and Silver who tried separating the two blue hedgehogs as she watched for Sonic who quickly dodged her shots. "I've seen your past, your hatred was strong. You let nothing stand in your way... not even your own mother." Sonic stopped shocked at how Emerald knew about his most hurtful memory. Smiling at the blue hedgehog's falter she took advantage and leaped at him shooting a powerful blast. "Sonic!" Shadow quickly pushed him away the blast hitting the emeralds instead. A shockwave of energy threw everyone back as the emeralds shattered, their dark color draining as they went dim. Everyone looked up shaken by the blast. Silver looked towards the shards of the emeralds that covered the floor, soon his eyes rested on a bundle of blue fur and quills on the floor. "Emerald!" he yelled as he quickly sat her up against him. Her eyes fluttered open color again returning to them. She looked up at silver tears glazing over her eyes. "Please tell me it was all a bad dream," Silver found as he shook his head. Shadow and Sonic came up beside him. "I'm afraid not," Shadow said in a grim voice still on guard. Her head fell as she tried to keep her tears in. "I don't know what happened, the emeralds just started to darken as if they were sick. I felt their pain, I tried to heal them but... the darkness took me over. I can still feel it inside of me," she shook as she hugged herself cold. Silver quickly wrapped his arms around her trying to comfort her as well as warm her up Sonic and Shadow looked at them smiling soon joining in glad that the drama was finally over. "Don't worry It's all over now," Sonic said as he held Emerald in the hug. She smiled but suddenly it faded as she remembered something. "It's not over yet," The hedgehogs as well as Blaze and Miss Sol looked at her worried. "The three gods are still hunting you down," Blaze worriedly looked at her. "How are you so sure," Suddenly the mural door was thrown into the room from above them. "I think that answers your question," Sonic yelled as Celios walked through the gap his tainted eyes set on them.
