MIGUEL'S POV—

I was running things through my head of what I was going to say. So when I heard a knock on the window. I was on high alert.

"You can come in now." Mariposa smiles.

I cautiously open the door. "Are you sure?" I raise an eyebrow.

She nods. "Yeah, we're staying for dinner."

"Que?" what?

Did I travel through the twilight zone?

"Are you sure we're at the right house?"

She laughs. "Yes. We're going to talk."

"Really?"

"Really. Now, come on. I told Antonia I would set the table."

"Okay, hold on."

"Miguel, you're not bringing that stupid helmet."

I frown. "Why not? It's for safety reasons."

"Miguel."

I hiss. "Alright, fine but this time I'm hitting back."

REGULAR POV

"So... who would like some broccoli?" Antonia asks but all she receives is straight-up crickets.

It's awkward ASF right now.

"I'll take some," I say quietly.

"Miguel, would you like some?"

Dad scoffs. "Of course, he would."

"No, thank you." he smiles.

"Don't smile at my wife. You already took my daughter."

"Dad!"

"H/N!"

"Okay screw this, listen Miguel. I want to know what you're going to do to provide for my daughter." Mom takes over the conversation.

"I'm going to do everything and anything for her."

"She deserves the world," Mom says to him.

"I know she does."

"I will strive every day to make sure I don't give her anything small."

"I want her to still go to college. She has so much potential. I don't want you standing in the way of that because you think she needs to be at home cooking and cleaning for you."

"I agree."

"I'm sorry for how we both went about things but M/N, I truly love her with all my heart. I'll do anything to make her happy."

"You better because I will kill you if you don't. I've seen enough criminal minds to make it look like an accident."

She's not kidding... because I know too.

"That's it?" Dad snaps.

"H/N, can we please talk outside for a moment."

"Hell no. I don't want to talk to you. No matter what I say, Y/N is going to do what she wants. If she wants to reject Harvard then I'm not stopping her. She's a grown woman from what she says. So if you break her heart then she's going to have to deal with it on her own... As a grown woman."

"Don't come crying to me Y/N, unless you want an "I told you so." you're on your own on student loans and textbooks. Don't ask me or your Mother for anything." he then takes his plate and goes upstairs.
