Darkmare Appear!

In a black void, a black figure and a red eyes appear in front of Hikaru. Hikaru didn't respond or react.

[???]: Hikaru... It your time... Let your nightmares free from you mind and I will cover with my darkness.... No more pain from the past...

Hikaru: I don't know.... I can't....

Ruby; Hikaru? Are you alright?

Hikaru open his eyes and look at his leader.

Hikaru: Um... Yes. I'm fine.

Weiss: C'mon, Hikaru. If you're not focus, we going to lose because of you.

Hikaru: I know. C'mon and let go.

Team RWBY-H them walk together.

With the sound of a rapid heartbeat, the scene cuts to a smirking Cinder Fall as she sits in one of the Amity Colosseum's seats along with the rest of the cheering crowd, their screams being drowned out by the announcements.

Port: (over the broadcasting system) Now, for the moment you've all been waiting for! The one-on-one finals!

In the center of the battlefield's stage, Hikaru just give a small smile as the camera pans down the line of final fighters, a few new faces mixed in with Sun Wukong, Penny Polendina, Mercury Black, and the troubled Pyrrha at the other end of the line.

Port: (back in the announcer's box with his co-host) Barty, why don't you explain the rules?

Oobleck: Ah, it's quite simple, Peter. Instead of a bracket system, each round of the finals will be randomly determined immediately before the match takes place!

Port: Much like any good hunt, there will be zero time to prepare!

Oobleck: Ah, yes, yes! Now, let's see who our first match will be!

The energetic doctor points out to the screens above the stadium as the roulette starts spinning, this time for competitors instead of biomes. The "random selection" is watched by the owner of the Crow Bar, a group of Human and Faunus kids, the visitors and workers at the Cross Continental Transmit System, before it gets back from the worldwide audience glimpses to reveal the first showdown.

Port: Hikaru Sakura and Mercury Black!

Ruby: (cupping her hands to make sure her encouragement is heard from her spot alongside RWBY, JNPR, and SSSN) Hikaru! Pick your strongest form!

Cinder, still smiling, gets up from her place and begins walking out, eyes on the battlefield.

Port: Would all other combatants please leave the stage!

The rest of the lineup does so, and Hikaru starts walking up to Mercury in the middle as the floor around them opens once more, with a ring of spotlights rising up to automatically fix their lights on the remaining two.

Hikaru: We meet again.

Mercury: Of course, we do.

Hikaru put his Gear Driver on his waist and then he looks at Dark Mode and Nightmare Gear. He without hesitation, insert it into the Gear Driver.

Nightmare! Dark Mode!

When insert into the Gear Driver, it cause a purple spark. Mercury saw it and prepared for himself.

Port: Three! Two! One! Fight!

Hikaru: Henshin!

Hikaru press the button and transform. A black mist appear of Hikaru and then when the black mist comes off, he transform into Gear Darkmare.

Darkmare!

He make a first step and got shocked of spark on his body and force him to walk back. Team RWBY were confused along side with JNPR and SSSN.

Weiss: Is he okay?

Ruby: Of course, he's okay! He just nervous!

Back to the fight, Mercury look at Gear Darkmare form was shocking on his body. Mercury smirk and run towards him and kick him off from the platform.

Port: Well... That was...

Oobleck: The winner is Mercury Black!

Port: Wait! Look at that!

Before Mercury can walk away, he heard an engine sound and turn around and saw Gear Darkmare floating using Phoenix wings.

Mercury: What the...

Gear begin to attack using his wing over and over. Mercury avoid it and kick him on his face. Gear stand up and look at Mercury. Mercury begin to shooting at his foot to shoot at Gear. Gear rushing towards him without a scar and punch him on his face and cause him to collapse.

Gear then punch multiple times until his right arm stop without any reason. Gear himself was confused. The whole audience were confused. Mercury took the chance and punch him on his face and free from Gear. Gear stand up until a spark of purple and black shocked his body.

Port: What is going with Hikaru?!

Oobleck: I'm not sure! I never see him like this before!

Ruby: Oh no! He going to lose!

Weiss: C'mon! Hikaru! Fight!

Jaune: Hey, Pyrrha. What is going on with Hikaru?

Pyraah: I don't know. I never see him like this before. Also, he never show this form too.

Back to the fight, Gear Darkmare form begin to walk slowly due to the shock stastic on his body.

Mercury: Well, well, well. I think I'm gonna take that as my victory.

Mercury jump and begin to kick on Gear. Gear begin aware and saw Mercury try to attack him. Gear press the button to perform his finisher.

Dark Finisher!

His shadow become large and form a black figure and a red eyes. This cause the all audience shocked and scared. Mercury was shocked in terror.

Gear: This is my finisher!

Gear begin to punch on Mercury foot and the black figure follow his movements and punch him on his foot and sent him very far away and was defeated by Gear Darkmare form. Hikaru transform back to normal. Team RWBY was cheering at Hikaru victory until Ruby saw Hikaru face was pale white.

Port: What a way to kick off the finals!

Oobleck: Hikaru Sakura wins! I thought he going to lose!

Weiss: Yeah! You did it, Hikaru!

Blake: Way to go, Hikaru!

Hikaru look at Mercury lying on the ground and turn around and walk away without a word until he collapsed on the ground. The audience was shocked. Team RWBY, JNPR and SNNN was shocked to see Hikaru.
