In the childhood phase, have you always wondered why my elders are obsessed with visiting temple every week and why they loved spending time there?

Well, it occurred to me always. My granny used to stay for hours and as a kid I used to wonder why.

I was never an atheist but wasn't spiritual either.

But as people say, what is yours will eventually get to you.

So did happen with me.

It was the month before Savan. Savan is the month of Lord Shiva. Devotees do different kind of fasting to show their dedication.

One fine day it struck my mind, what if I do too.

Me being me, I cannot fast but at least I can eat just vegetarian food for the month.

I believe in instinct and my mind wandered why suddenly this thought? So I decided to do it. Me being a non-vegetarian, it was really difficult at first.

But I did. And I am not sure how my love, respect, devotion started growing.

I love places having a history. One Shivratri, I started searching for Shiv temple near me as my family shifted recently. I found a beautiful temple within 2-3Km radius. The place is beautiful, the architecture, the aura is different. You feel happy & content.

Whenever my mind is disturbed, I run there. Then I started watching shows, started reading more about Shiva and was more in love.

There were many incidents in my life where he helped me through. Not by doing any miracle but by just vying there. Everywhere I go, i used to find something related to him or should I say, he found me.

Just one instance which is very special. I was on a trip with my family to a mountain. That was the first proper experience of the mountains. After 4 hours of cab ride and yet half of the journey still pending, I was exhausted. I felt dizzy and suffocated. The driver stopped the car at a cafe to freshen up. When I got out of the car, I was too irritated by then.

Suddenly I turned back and there was a huge and beautiful Shiva Statue made of marble.

Might sound strange, but I had a smile and determination that "Ab jo hoga dekha jaayega".

The amount of strength I got after that is something else.

Thats why it is said if you believe, everything can be done. My belief is him 🩵
