Victoria
I was leaving my workplace because there was an important meeting today, I have been so busy with work lately that I haven't been spending as much time with Destiny as I should, but she understands and has been patient the entire time. God I love that woman, if it were up to me we would be married already. To make up for my absence I decided to put together something for her and show her my appreciation. She has been more than supportive of my career, she has been cooking, cleaning, and taking care of me and the house. I told her that she didn't have to but she insisted since she didn't want to "sit around and take up space". I got inside of my truck and pulled out of the parking lot, I was going to call my assistant until I got a call on my phone, it was my dad, I answered and he began to bombard me with questions and complain about not seeing me or my mate. It's been close to a month since Destiny has been staying at my place and I haven't found the right time to introduce her to my family.
"Dad, I'm sorry, I just haven't gotten around to it yet but I promise you'll meet her just on her time." I could hear him huffing over the phone making me laugh.
"Just tell me you hate me Victoria."
"Dad you're being dramatic."
"Who's being dramatic now?" I heard my father's deep voice in the background.
"Darling, Vicky doesn't want to introduce her mate to us. I think she's ashamed of us." There was movement in the back until I heard my father's deep voice through the speaker.
"Princess, surely you didn't say that."
"I didn't, dad is just blowing things out of proportion because he can't control his excitement."
"I am not, I just want to meet her. Why don't you two come for dinner one night? Your father has been missing you as well."He yelled from the back. I could imagine the pout look on his face.
"Dad, I'll bring her to meet you guys just not this soon. She hasn't even accepted me yet."
"Why not? Is there something wrong?" My father said.
"Nothing, I just want everything to go at a steady pace."
"We understand, just don't make your dad wait too long or he'll explode."
"Hey, who's side are you on?" My dad whined.
"Yours of course honey. Victoria I expect to see you at the Alpha convention, if you can, bring your mate so we can meet officially if you can't make it to dinner."
"Yes sir."
"I love you, baby." My dad yelled.
"I love you too, dad." We hung up and I called my assistant to follow up on how everything was holding up. I wanted our date to be as romantic as ever; she let me know everything was going as planned so I headed home, ready to see my beautiful mate. I headed upstairs to wake her but instead, I was met with her hovering over the toilet looking flushed, I hurried to her side to ask her what was wrong.
"I'm fine, I think I just ate something bad." I watched her carefully, she did seem as if she was a little pale.
"Well, you aren't looking so well baby. How about you lay down for a few and get some more rest and I'll go get you some water and medicine for your stomach."
"I'm fine, I just need you." She took a deep breath, smelling my scent. Her response caught me by surprise, was she finally coming around? I could feel warmth creep into my chest and face.
"Victoria, you're releasing pheromones." She chuckled.
"Sorry." There was a knock at the door so I hurried downstairs to answer the door, it was the things I ordered from the store for Destiny. I grabbed the bags and headed back upstairs.
