The next day

I was in the midst of adjusting a new display when the door chimed, announcing a new arrival. I glanced up, expecting a regular visitor, but was startled to see Aviel walking in with a broad grin.

"Hey, Louisa!" Aviel greeted, his enthusiasm practically radiating from him. "I hope it's okay, but I couldn't stay away. I wanted to come back and check out the gallery again."

I couldn't help but smile at his persistence. "Of course, Aviel. It's nice to see you again. What brings you back so soon?"

Aviel shrugged casually, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "Just wanted to take in the atmosphere again. Plus, there were a few things I missed last time. Thought I'd come by and see them."

I nodded, amused by his determination. "Well, I'm glad you're enjoying it. Feel free to look around."

As Aviel began exploring the gallery with evident interest, I noticed Myla walking in, her expression a mix of surprise and annoyance. She spotted Aviel and made her way over, her gaze sharp and her steps purposeful.

"Back again, I see," Myla said, her tone laced with irritation. "Didn't realize you were such a fan of the gallery."

Aviel looked up from a painting, his grin unwavering. "Well, I guess you could say I'm becoming one. Besides, I promised to return and see a few more things."

Myla raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed. "You're not here just for the art, are you?"

Aviel's grin widened as he met her gaze. "Actually, there's a bit more to it. I was hoping to spend a little more time with you."

Myla's eyes narrowed slightly, though there was a flicker of curiosity behind her irritation. "Really? And why would you want that?"

Aviel took a step closer, his expression earnest. "I enjoyed our last conversation and thought it would be nice to continue getting to know you. Plus, I promised myself I'd return, and I'm a man of my word."

Myla's expression remained guarded, but she seemed less annoyed and more intrigued. "Persistent, aren't you?"

Aviel nodded, his gaze never leaving hers. "Guilty as charged. But I promise I'm not trying to be a nuisance. I just think there's something intriguing about you, and I'd like to explore that."

I watched their interaction with a mix of amusement and interest. It was clear that Aviel was genuinely attracted to Myla, and despite her efforts to keep him at arm's length, she was clearly interested in him, even if she didn't want to admit it.

"So, Aviel," Myla said, her tone begrudgingly softer, "what's on your mind today? More thoughts on the art, or are you just here to charm me?"

Aviel's eyes lit up with a playful spark. "Actually, I'd love to hear your take on the latest exhibition. But if you're more interested in our conversation, I'm all ears."

Myla hesitated, then let out a resigned sigh. "Alright, I suppose I can share my thoughts on the exhibition. But only if you promise to stop being so annoying."

Aviel's grin widened, clearly enjoying the challenge. "Deal. I'll do my best to keep my charm in check."

As they started discussing the artwork, the conversation between them became more relaxed. Aviel's genuine interest and playful banter seemed to be breaking down Myla's defenses, even if she was trying to stay aloof. Their chemistry was undeniable, and it was interesting to watch Myla's attitude gradually shift from irritation to intrigue.
