Chapter four.

--⧗--

I didn't really know what was happening, a stranger I randomly decided to trust was leading me to another group of strangers but it's okay because it's either this or going back to the red room. I can't guarantee making it past eighteen if I return there, so I'll stick with this option.

The redhead woman and I approach the two men who she was walking with earlier. They both have confused looks on their face and I can see their eyes flicker between me and Natalia repeatedly.

I stand awkwardly, not really knowing what to think of this whole situation. Natalia suddenly stops walking and turns to me. She stares for a minute before telling me to stay where I am. I nod, looking around trying to scope out my surroundings.

I can hear them all whispering and obviously motioning towards me. I hate when people stare at me, it irks me.

I turned around, trying to get the feeling of their eyes on me to disappear. Theres a bunch of tall buildings around and signs. How do people live here all the time? I'd get lost so easily.

"Hey," One of the men from behind me get my attention, "What's your name?"

"Anastsiya." I pause, scanning between each of them.

Natalia stares at me, looking me directly in the eyes. "Where did you come from?" She takes a step closer to me. "Who were you running away from?"

My face scrunched up in confusion. What did she think of if she didn't know? Is this even who I think it is? "I thought you already knew."

"Well, I'm just making sure." She crosses her arms. Damn, already getting sassy.

"The Red Room." I cross my arms, returning the gesture.

I can see her face morph into a look of disappointment and confusion. I heard the weird colorful man sigh and mutter something under his breath which I made out to be, "No child should grow up there."

That sentence made me think. Am I really a child if I lived there my whole life? Did I really ever have a childhood? I'm not in the mood for thinking of deep emotional questions right now. This whole situation just made me realize I'm really hungry.

A car pulled up, and it was the man with two beards driving. I swore he was just behind the other two, but maybe I'm just tired. The other guy gets into the passengers seat while the red head turns back to me.

She motions for me to follow her, which I do. Normally I'm not this trusting, but it's not like I really have any other choice. Me and Natalia, who I'm not even sure is actually her, both hop in the back seats.

It was silent for a couple minutes, which was really awkward. I finally decided to speak up, still whispering. "So... Are you Natalia?"

She turns to me, pursing her lips. "Yes, but I'm no longer Natalia. It's Natasha." She looks back at me, "How did you know that?"

"Dreykov always talks about you." I say, rolling my eyes. "Always saying that if we try anything like that we will be punshed. Worse than the others. He never stops talking, it's really annoying. I'm suprised his face doesnt hurt from how much he screams and yells..."

I continue to talk about everything that annoyed me, since I never really had the chance to. Once I finally realized what I was doing, I paused. My face blushed in embarrassment while I mumbled, "Sorry..."

She brushes it off, saying its fine. We talk more about a bunch of things, mostly me explaining whats different, and some of her explaining what life is like after.

She told me about "fro-yo". It's a really silly name, but from what I understand its like ice cream but soft. I hope I can try it some day.

We eventually got wherever we were going and got out infront of this tall building. We walked inside, I was trailing behind Natalia, or Natasha now. I have really bad memory, but maybe its due to the fact I got basically brainwashed five times a day.

This buildings really big. It looks really fancy and future... future? Futuristic! That's a funny word. Futuristic.

A random bald man with an eyepatch appears. Tony and Steve, who I had just learned the names of, both look at Natasha, waiting for her to say something.

"Fury, this is Anastasiya." Fury? What kind of name is that. Maybe it's cause he looks really mad. He's kinda scary.

He walks up to me, and holds his hand out. I stare up at him, not knowing what to do. I looked over at Natasha, still confused. She mouthed "Shake it". Oh... Not my proudest moment. I shake his hand, I've never shook someones hand before so It took me a moment to figure it out.

He looks over to Natasha and they walk away for a minute, I assume talking about where I'm from. Steve and Tony both walk over to me, not really knowing what to say.

"So.. you have any hobbies?" The red, white, and blue man said, awkwardly moving around.

"Um... Im an assassin?" I don't really know what to say, I don't even know the main hobbies. "I like to dance."

"Where'd you learn how to dance?" He says, intrigued.

I let out a tiny laugh. "The same place that trained me to do what i'm best at." He makes an O shape with his mouth, deciding to not talk anymore.

Me and the two men make small talk, waiting for Natasha to come back.

"Anastasiya." Fury starts, "You can stay here, with the avengers, while we try to find out what to do." I nod, thanking him.

Natasha walks over and puts her arm around my shoulder, starting to walk. "Come on, were gonna go on a little trip."
