"What's wrong?!" you yelled into the empty air as you and Soobin rushed inside your mom's house. "We need to take her to the hospital. Quick!" Soobin said, immediately springing into action. He gently lifted Ho Yeon into his arms while you and your mom followed him in a panic. "Mom, please don't cry. She's going to be okay," you said, trying your best to stay calm even though your heart was pounding just as hard.

You reached the hospital as fast as you could. Nurses rushed out with a stretcher, and Soobin carefully placed Ho Yeon down as the doctor immediately checked her vitals with a stethoscope. "We're taking her in for further tests," the doctor informed, and they wheeled her away. Your mom was still sobbing, unable to stand still. Her hands shook, and she kept murmuring prayers under her breath.

"Mom, please... try to calm down," you said gently, guiding her to sit on a bench in the waiting area. Soobin stood nearby, keeping his distance in his hoodie and cap, staying inconspicuous. After a moment, he quietly slipped away without a word.

He returned a few minutes later holding a cup of water. He handed it to your mom with a soft, respectful gesture. She accepted it, drank it slowly, and began to calm down. You looked at Soobin and gave him a silent, grateful nod. He returned it with a small, reassuring smile.

"Mom... what happened back there?" you asked as she finished drinking. "I don't know! She was just watching TV... and then she suddenly complained about stomach pain. She started vomiting and then just..... collapsed. I was so scared, [Your Name]-ah... I didn't know what to do," your mom cried, her voice breaking. You wrapped your arms around her and held her close. "It's alright, Mom. She's going to be okay."

Soobin, standing nearby, nodded at you—quietly showing his support. You appreciated that more than words could say.

A few minutes later, the doctor returned, and all three of you rushed to meet her. "Doctor, is she okay?" you asked, heart racing. "She's stable now," the doctor said, and all three of you exhaled in relief at once. "Can I ask—does Ho Yeon usually eat very little?" the doctor inquired, looking at you.

You paused, thinking. She always had a small appetite... but now that you looked back, it didn't seem normal. It wasn't just her being a picky eater. "Yes. She barely eats anything, honestly," you admitted. "That explains it," the doctor said with a nod. "She's been diagnosed with peptic ulcer disease." All three of you looked at her in confusion.

"What's that?" your mom asked, alarmed. "It's an ulcer in the lining of the stomach. It causes abdominal pain, nausea, and loss of appetite. It can become serious if not treated, but thankfully, we caught it early." Your mom looked overwhelmed again. "What do we do now?"

"No need to worry," the doctor said gently. "She'll be fine with proper medication, regular meals, and a few lifestyle changes. Just keep an eye on her diet and make sure she doesn't skip meals." You let out a deep breath you didn't realize you were holding. "Thank you so much, doctor." She nodded and left, and the three of you walked down the hallway to see Ho Yeon.

"Yeon-ah... are you okay, baby?" your mom whispered, voice trembling as soon as she saw her daughter lying on the hospital bed. "Yes," Ho Yeon replied, her voice faint but steady. "Thank God... you scared me so much," your mom said, hugging her tightly as tears rolled down her cheeks.

"I'm so glad you're okay," you added softly, brushing Ho Yeon's hair from her forehead. "Please let her rest now," the nurse told you, and you nodded, quietly exiting the room.

"I'm just so relieved she's fine," your mom said as you stepped out of the hospital. Her tone had softened now, the panic finally wearing off. For the first time since arriving, she finally noticed Soobin properly. "Oh—and thank you so much, sir. You helped us a lot," she said with a warm, grateful smile.

"Oh no no, it's alright eommonim," Soobin replied politely. You side-eyed him with a small grin. Eommonim? Really? He just laughed under his breath, and luckily, your mom didn't notice. "What's your name?" she asked. "Choi Soobin," he replied. She nodded, not recognizing the name at all, and treated him just like any other polite young man.

"Are you my [Your Name]'s friend?" He smiled and nodded. "Yes." She looked at him curiously. "Why are you hiding your face like that?" You tensed slightly, eyes flicking to Soobin. "I have a lot of pimples," he said with a completely straight face. You laughed quietly, covering your mouth. Good save.

"Oh, don't worry," your mom said kindly. "I'll give you a home remedy." "Thank you!" he replied with a bright grin.
