You don't really remember what happened last night. All you know is — when you open your eyes, you're staring at your ceiling, the same ceiling you see every morning. "Am I home?" you ask aloud, your voice groggy and your brain scrambled. The last thing you remember is crying like a drunk child with Yoo Jin. Everything after that is just... blank.
You assume you must've somehow gotten into a cab and made it home. Must've... right? Shaking off the fog, you sit up and stumble to the bathroom, ready to wash away the regret (and soju) clinging to your skin.
After a long, hot shower, you finally feel like a functioning human again. Wrapped in a towel, you step out of the bathroom, finally remembering that Ho Yeon isn't home today. No tiny feet stomping around. No TxT songs blasting. Just quiet.
So, without second thought, you drop your towel to get dressed in peace. And that's when you hear the click of your front door opening. You spin around— "You!?" you shriek, heart leaping to your throat as you spot Soobin standing right there. His eyes go wide. "Oh my God—sorry! I—!" He quickly turns around, shielding his eyes. Panicking, you scramble to cover yourself with the towel again.
"Get out! Go out right now!" you squeal, your voice an octave higher than usual. "I'm going, I'm going!" he yells, already halfway to the hallway. You slam the door shut and lean against it, breathing like you just ran a marathon.Once you've dressed (in clothes, actual clothes), you open the door to face him. He's standing there sheepishly, hands behind his back like a schoolboy who broke a vase.
"Why do you always show up unannounced like this?" you ask, trying your best to sound composed even though he literally saw you naked. His eyes glance at everything except you. "Well... the reason was you." You narrow your eyes. "Me?"You ask. "You don't remember, do you?" He raises and eyebrow. "Not really. Refresh my memory, please," you say, arms folded, already dreading his answer.
He grins — of course he grins. "You called me. You were crying. You sent me your location and told me to come pick you up." Pieces of the memory start to return — vague images of you sobbing in the street with Yoo Jin. "You and your friend were drunk and wasted. I somehow got you both into my car. Dropped him home first, then brought you here." It all clicks now. And it makes you want to dig a hole and disappear.
"I'm sorry," you mumble, not even meeting his eyes. "You don't have to be." You finally glance up. "Why not?" You ask, staring into his eyes. "Because..." He smiles again, softer this time. "You said exactly what I wanted to hear." Your stomach drops. What did I say?
"What exactly did I say?" you ask cautiously, praying it wasn't something mortifying. "You told me..." He leans slightly closer. "That you want me to love you." Boom. Flashback. You crying into your drink: "But I want him to love meeeeee!" Oh God. You groan internally. "People say all kinds of nonsense when they're drunk.""Not nonsense," he says. "Drunk words are sober thoughts." He's right — and that's what terrifies you. "I highly doubt that, Mr. Soob—" You begun but he cuts you. "Soobin," he corrects you smoothly, stepping closer. His presence fills the room like gravity pulling you in.
"Soobin," you whisper, heart racing. "I—" He begins, looking into your eyes, biting his lip softly. "I'm ready to love you," he says. Your brain short-circuits. "What?" You ask, the floor beneath your feet seems to crumble. "I'm ready to love you," he repeats. "And, also..." He grins again, completely unbothered.
"You look beautiful naked. Even if it was just for a second." Your jaw drops. And then he just... leaves. Smoothly. Casually. Like he didn't just say the most outrageous, heart-stopping, emotionally gutting thing you've ever heard. You're left staring at the door, completely and utterly dumbfounded. What just happened?
