Sereia's POV

"Sereia," my mother whispered as she shook me.

"Hmm?" I mumbled as I tried to stay asleep.

"It's your father," she cried. "I think it's time."

I jumped up.

"He's calling for you," she gave me a sad smile. "I'm going to go clean up the living room before the doctor gets here."

I nodded as I stood up and ran my hand down my face.

My breaths were shaky as I walked into his bedroom.

His eyes were closed and his breathing was shallow.

"Dad?" I called softly. "It's Sereia."

He smiled as he opened his eyes. "I've been waiting out for you, kid."

When I saw the tears in his eyes, I immediately started to cry.

"Bury me next to Violet," he requested and I cried even harder. "I want you to be happy, Sereia."

"I'll get revenge for all the things she did to Violet," I cried. "I swear I'll ruin that bitch's life even if it ruins mine."

He lifted his shaky hands to hold my face. "No, don't do that."

"Too late," I cursed. "I've already started and I won't stop until she feels the pain Violet did."

If it wasn't for her, my family would still be as we were before.

He wiped my tears away as he cried too. "Sereia, you need to be happy."

He kept emphasising my happiness.

"Be happy?" I asked. "How am I supposed to be happy when she's living her best life while my family suffers in silence?"

"Because that's what Violet would have wanted," he answered.

"Now you care about what Violet wants?" I asked him. "Do you think she would've wanted you to drink yourself to death?"

My words were harsh and I felt more anger than sadness.

"She wouldn't," he answered. "That's why you shouldn't make the same mistake as me."

He began a series of coughing.

"I'm tired, Sereia," he said as he closed his eyes.

I held his hand. "I know, get some sleep."

I held back my anger as I stayed with my father.

The doctor finally arrived and checked his vitals.

"It won't be long," she told me with a sympathetic look.

My mother walked in and held my father's other hand.

Twenty minutes passed before my father turned to my mother.

"I forgive you, but you need to seek help. If not for yourself, do it for Sereia."

She nodded. "I promise I will."

"I love you," he told her.

"I love you too, Silus," she cried before they shared one last kiss.

He then turned to me.

"Sereia."

I shook my head. "I don't want to hear it. Please, no last words."

"Don't do this to me, Sereia," he begged as tears spewed out of my eyes.

"If you think getting revenge is the only thing that will make you happy, please do it. Give that Campbell girl what she deserves."

"I will," I cried. "I swear, I will."
