"This job is boring."

"It's only your first day..."

Ryo frowns.

"It's a lot of standing and doing nothing."

"It's quite nice, to be honest. But if you're bored let's chat!"

"Hm, how is your adventure to finding a drummer?"

It's been a week since we made the deal. And to be honest, it's a little harder than I expected it to be. Whenever we find musicians they all either say they are already in a band or don't wanna be in one. I thought about going to Starry since it's the live house where I so happened to meet Ruka. So maybe we would find other people too.

But Ruka says she's been there multiple times to find people to the point where most people know her already. But we still have some options! We have the internet after all. Maybe I'll have to start a social media account or something. Maybe Ryo knows a thing or two.

"It's been going alright. Still haven't found one yet. How did you join Kessoku Band?"

"I met Nijika through school. We are classmates. She found out I played bass and invited me to her band, and the rest is history. How about you look for some people in your school?"

School...

"I... dunno about that."

Ryo frowns and tilts her head.

"Why not Y/N?"

"There's no one that's into music like that. I've tried in the past believe me. It really sucks. It's hard to connect with people because of it."

That's why I joined track. As a way to be more active in school and to get to know more people, since I can't make friends through music, I decided to join a sport as a way to connect with others. It's fun and I've made some friends through it, but not any close friends. I mostly talk to them during school.

"I see. That's a shame. People don't realize how amazing music is."

"I know right?"

"Do you have friends in school?"

"Some. Not much."

"That's surprising. You bring more extroverted vibes than introverted."

"Ha! Well, I do enjoy talking to people. It's just if I don't have many things in common with them It's hard to get along ya know?"

"I understand. It's only natural. I don't like talking to people much. I like being alone. The only friends I need are my band and you."

"Well, that's nice of you."

"We are bassist buddies after all. And my band seems to like you and Ruka."

"Well, that's nice! It's great to get along and be friends with a whole band. Just need to find a person to get a band going myself."

"Yes. Also, be wary of someone joining and abruptly quitting. That happened with our vocalist Kita."

"Huh?! Really?! Why?!"

We end up talking more and more about her band and learning how it all originated, and talking a bunch about music stuff in general until our shits were over. I hope I was able to make her first day not so bad. It was a lot more fun having someone to talk to.

I feel we can officially call each other friends now.
