Chapter 2: Trauma

Catnap's POV

I wake up to the sound of crunching. I realized I was at the dining table, covered in a blankets. Dogday was sitting across from me, noticing I woke up.

"Took you long enough, sleepy." He said teasingly. I blushed slightly, rolling my eyes and beginning to eat the food he made for me.

Dogday's POV

Catnap just woke up and began to eat the food I made. Thank God, I'm not wasting food. Besides, there isn't even a place for us to get food, unless there was a supermarket on the other side of the forest. After breakfast, I took our dishes and put them in the sink, rinsing them off before placing them on the drying rack.

"Catnap, let's go outside and see what's around this place." I suggested.

"Alright." He replied. We walked out the door and I realized there was a house here.

"Catnap, there wasn't a house here before yesterday, right?" I asked.

"Yeah, you're right. Let's check it out." He suggested. I nodded, before following him to the house. It looked EXACTLY like Bubba's. We tried to look in through the windows, but we didn't see anybody, just furniture and bookshelves. I was about to walk back home when Catnap knocked on the door.

"Dude, nobody is here, what are you doing?" I asked. He shrugged, and someone slightly opened the door, sticking his head out. It was Bubba.

Bubba's POV

I haven't seen any of the smiling critters in years, but now I'm looking at two of them!

"D-Dogday!?" I said. I ran out, hugging him tightly.

"Y-yeah, I missed you too, d-dude, but I legitimately can not breathe." He said. I let go and stepped back from him, smiling.

"Man, it's so good to see y-HOLY SHIT LOOK OUT!!!" I said, pointing towards Catnap. He looked confused, before looking at Catnap and back at me.

"It's fine, he's not under the influence of the Prototype anymore." He said.

"I'm not buying that shit. I have been alone in this house for years, and the first thing that comes knocking at my door? The one who did this to me. " I said.

"I still remember all that fucking shit he did to all of us. He ripped us to shreds, so how do you know he isn't manipulating you?!" I continued.

"I can't know that, but I CAN trust him." Said Dogday.

"Typical. You trusted him before, now look where we are." I said. I was about to shut the door, but Dogday moved his foot in the way.

"Just let us explain, Bubba. You're the smart ass, remember? So be smart enough to hear us out." He said. I reluctantly opened my door, letting Dogday and the monster inside. We sat down in the living room.

"Alright, start talking." I said.

"Well, after what feels like weeks of being in a white room, yesterday Catnap arrived as well. Neither of us were happy about it, but we got sent here and didn't see any other houses. I didn't say I forgave him, but I did say that I am willing to let him change." He explained.

"Alright, but what made Catnap arrive?" I asked. This time, Catnap responded.

"I was about to get saved by the Prototype, but he killed me." He said.

"Sounds about right..." I muttered to myself.

"That's what he gets for being a monster." I said. Catnap looked down at his feet when I said that.

"Oh, for fucks sake, Bubba! He was never a monster! He got manipulated by someone who saved his life, so there is no fucking point in blaming him for anything!" Yelled Dogday. I was surprised to hear him yell, but there was no time to be surprised.
