The sun rose over Gotham City, casting long shadows across the streets. At the old Drake Manor, the Addams family was preparing for a significant day-Wednesday's first day at Gotham Academy.Wednesday stood in front of her mirror, adjusting her dark uniform. The traditional attire of Gotham Academy had been modified slightly to suit her unique style: the skirt was a little longer, and the blouse was complemented by a dark ribbon.
"Perfect," Morticia said, entering the room. "You look positively terrifying, darling."
"Thank you, Mother," Wednesday replied, her tone as flat as ever. "I'm looking forward to seeing how this new environment will challenge me."
"Remember to keep an eye out for potential allies," Gomez added, peeking into the room. "You never know when you might need one in Gotham."
Wednesday nodded, picking up her satchel. "I'll see you this afternoon."
As the family watched her leave, a sense of pride and anticipation filled the air.
At Gotham Academy, the students bustled through the grand hallways, their voices echoing off the marble floors. Wednesday walked through the front doors, her presence immediately drawing curious glances. She navigated the hallways with ease, her dark demeanor and stoic expression setting her apart from the other students.
In her first class, History, she found an empty seat near the back and sat down. The other students whispered among themselves, stealing glances at the new arrival. Unperturbed, Wednesday took out her notebook and began to jot down observations.
The teacher, Mr. Crane, entered the room and the class fell silent. "Good morning, students. We have a new classmate today. Please welcome Wednesday Addams."
The class muttered a half-hearted greeting, but Wednesday merely nodded in acknowledgment. As Mr. Crane began his lecture, she noticed Damian Wayne sitting a few rows ahead. He turned slightly, giving her a nod of recognition, which she returned with a slight smile.
During lunch, Wednesday found a secluded spot in the courtyard, away from the prying eyes of her classmates. She preferred solitude, especially in a new and unfamiliar environment. As she ate, she noticed a shadow approaching-Damian.
"Mind if I join you?" he asked, already sitting down.
"Suit yourself," she replied, taking another bite of her sandwich.
"So, how are you finding Gotham Academy?" Damian asked, his tone casual.
"It's... different," Wednesday said, choosing her words carefully. "But I expected that."
"You'll get used to it," Damian said. "The students here can be... challenging."
Wednesday raised an eyebrow. "Challenging? In what way?"
"Let's just say that not everyone here is as open-minded as they should be," Damian replied, a hint of annoyance in his voice.
"Good," Wednesday said, a faint smile playing on her lips. "I prefer a challenge."
Damian chuckled. "I thought you might."
As the days passed, Wednesday's presence at Gotham Academy became a source of fascination and gossip. She quickly earned a reputation for her intelligence and unflinching demeanor. Despite her initial aloofness, she began to form a tentative friendship with Damian.
One afternoon, in their shared English class, the teacher, Ms. Thompson, assigned a group project. Wednesday and Damian were paired together, much to the curiosity of their classmates.
