Matt POV:
"Gus!" I exclaimed as I ran to his side. I was just barely able to catch him before we were both in a heap on the ground. "I'm fine Matty," he said shoving me off."What happened? Are you alright?" I asked. I continued to question him without hardley any response as I tried to get him over to the couch.
The room was really simple. It consisted of a couch a single chair a carpet and a coffee table (or thats what luz calls it so apparently Gus thinks its proper or whatever). But it was all we needed.
The walls were a tan color that I thought looked horrible but our landlord wouldnt let us paint over it. Theyre were a few sentimental photos on the walls but nothing much.
I'm getting off track. Alright. Anyways.
I got Gus over to the couch and he sank into the couch cushions. I continued to pester him with questions but he didn't answer hardly any of them.
"Gus answer me," I said shaking him back into reality. "Are you alright?"
"I-I don't know. I-I think so but sometimes I-" he stopped suddenly and gasped.
"What? Gus, what is it?" I asked.
Before I even finished his eyes opened wide and turned a glowing sky blue color. They were glowing like an illusion spell would when it was cast.
"Oh no," I muttered. This had happed before. Whenever Gus got really anxious or had a panic attack or got really mad or something his eyes turned blue and glowed. Then wherever he was in turned into a giant illusion. One time he turned are whole school into one.
Then he backed up to the edge of the couch and tucked his head in his knees. He covered his ears and the whole room turned into an illusion.
