A foggy haze of cold and saturated rain colored the California coast late in the night of September 3rd, now finally settling over the salty Pacific, damp, low-tide sand of Venice Beach, and graying, dirty seagulls that lined the lifeguard towers. They squawked, dipping their sharp and yellow beaks into the advancing tides in search of sizable crustaceans to snack on.
