"Hmm, I think we should do the walls orange" Jacob said as we drove down the highway

We were discussing colors to paint the babies room, and so far every color he's picked is horrible.

But at least we're back on talking terms. After the whole fallout we had last month he didn't talk to me for about a week, but then we worked things out. I agreed to distance myself from Chris and everything has been going great since then.

"But baby I like brown" I said

"Ok what about brown and yellow?" He suggested

"Ew, no."

"Ok. What about dark purple?" He threw out another horrible suggestion

"Mmm, no. I was thinking maybe neautral colors like white and a light brown."

"That's boring"

"Better than all those colors you suggested."

"But she's a kid she needs exciting colors." He stayed focused on the road as he rubbed my belly

Oh by the way, we're having a girl!

"And when she's old enough to make choices, she can have her room any color she wants. Until then, we're going with neutral colors"

"Whatever you say" he chuckled, placing both hands back on the wheel

"I'm glad you starting to understand that" I winked at him

He shook his head and grinned.

We sat in silence for a few seconds, driving to the doctor's office.
Today we're doing genetic screening just to find out if the baby has risk of developing a genetic condition or carrying a genetic variant for a disorder.

My phone dinged and I pulled it from my pocket. It was Erica letting me know I had a last minute fashion show to do tonight.

"So babe, I have a show tonight at 8. You coming?"

"Why so last minute?"

I shrugged "Probably like a private pop up show."

"You should cancel. That's probably a lot of work with it being so last minute."
