Sitting there in front of the mound, Embrance lazily opened his eyes

Sitting there in front of the mound, Embrance lazily opened his eyes. One of the candles had flickered out. His ears twitched. The storm outside had stopped. He leaned over and blew out the remaining two, and as he stood picking them up, placed them back on the alcoves. He picked up one of the larger jugs and walked over to remove the mass from his door. Embrance realized, besides water he needed more of the black mass. For just in case. The mass, which he called Imbeleth, served many purposes. One was making a great door and two it helped him survive off world.

It didn't take him long, nobody else was out and probably sleeping away from the storm. Good I won't be bothered this cycle, Embrance thought, I will be able to get water and have time to replace this mass with some new. Walking into the water cavern, it was quiet, just the way he liked it. He walked around the rim of the deep-water pool and found a spot he could fill his jug and drink as well. He filled the jug first and grabbed a small nearby bowl. Drinking his fill, he stood and walked deeper into the cavern. Down, lefts and rights, Embrance came to another opened cavern that looked like he had walked out into space. It was beautiful to look at and a nice place to sit for a while. Well until being discovered by the ancient ones and chased out. They didn't like anyone messing with it. He chose a small piece on the right and with his fingernails, cut the black mass off the wall. He smirked, it is a good thing that they hadn't found out what this was really good for or my kind would be more trouble than they are now.

He turned back and started back for his water jug. Picking up his full jug and leaving, being careful not to spill too much. Peering out, Embrance grimaced. He could see that a few had begun to wander out of there caves. Ignoring them he kept walking. It had been quite a few cycles since he'd been here and hopefully he would stay off the clan leaders radar, Embrance quicken his pace.

Being an adult had its advantages, but the clan leaders still tried to keep a watch on him when he was back in the area. No doubt, Ullgrent had already told them he was back in the area. Hopefully after meeting with this great council, he wouldn't need to come back until he could find a way to help Glyrra and his species. If there was something to fix.

He never mentioned her to the captain. It wasn't that he didn't trust him, it was that he didn't trust others. If they knew Teyrathayn were alive, it could spell a lot of trouble for them and by trouble he meant that they still didn't know what happened long ago. The ones who started this whole mess could still be around. He could sense eyes watching but no one made a move to bother him. Making it back to his cave, he sat the water jug in the back of the cave and went to fix the black mass back in front of the cave's mouth. Just a few feet away from the entrance stood two clan leaders, the second and the first, with five fighters.
