Freen's eyes snapped open, her heart sinking as she reached out to an empty space. The bed felt cold and vast without Miss Becky's warmth. Freen's skin prickled with goosebumps as she sat up, her eyes scanning the room with a growing sense of unease.

Freen's breath came in short gasps as anxiousness clawed its way up her throat. She scrambled out of bed, her eyes darting wildly around the room as if searching for a glimpse of her Miss Becky. But the space was empty, the silence oppressive. Freen's heart raced, her mind spiraling with worst-case scenarios. She took a step forward, her legs trembling beneath her. 'Miss Becky?' she called out, her voice barely above a whisper. The silence that followed was deafening. Even yesterday she didn't get any answers, was everything really okay?

Freen's feet seemed to move of their own accord as she crept down the stairs, her heart still reeling from the emptiness of the bedroom. But as she reached the bottom step, a faint hum of conversation drifted from the hallway and there stood Rebecca with her back facing, making her breath catch. Miss Becky's voice was low and urgent, the words indistinguishable, but the anger and frustration simmering beneath the surface sent a shiver down Freen's spine. She felt a pang of trepidation as she edged closer, her ears straining to pick up the hushed tones.and what had sparked Miss Becky's quiet fury?

Freen stood there, her hands cold and clammy, as she waited for Miss Becky to acknowledge her. The silence between them grew thicker, like a fog that clung to Freen's skin, making her shiver. She could feel her heart pounding in her chest, like a drumbeat warning her of impending danger. Miss Becky's back was still turned, her shoulders tense, as if she was trying to shut Freen out. Freen's eyes fixed on the rigid line of Miss Becky's shoulders, her mind racing with questions.

Freen's throat constricted, her voice trapped, as she struggled to form a word. The familiar feeling of being chained, of being helpless, washed over her like a wave.

unable to reach out to Miss Becky

The voices in her mind grew louder, a cacophony of doubts and fears, as she stood there, frozen, her eyes fixed on Miss Becky's rigid back. She felt like she was losing herself, like she was disappearing into the darkness, just like before. The thought of going back to old way sent a chill down her spine, and she trembled, her heart racing with a mix of fear and desperation.

As Rebecca turned back, her eyes widened in alarm, taking in Freen's distraught state. Freen's face was drenched in sweat, her eyes clenched shut, hands grasping her clothes like a lifeline. Rebecca quickly ended her call, the phone slipping from her hand as she rushed to Freen's side. "Freen!" she exclaimed, concern etched on her face. Freen's eyes remained shut, her body trembling, as the voices in her mind reached a fever pitch. She felt like she was suffocating.
