Rey opened the door, allowing the man to enter. It was Mr. Chankimha, his expression a mix of curiosity and concern. "You called me, son?" he asked, his voice gentle.
Mr. Chankimha's eyes widened in surprise. "What is she doing here? Why is she...?" He trailed off, his gaze fixed on Freen's limp form.
Rey's expression remained blank, his eyes fixed on some point beyond his father's shoulder. "I brought her here," he said, his voice flat, as he gestured towards the room where Freen lay unconscious.
Mr. Chankimha narrowed his eyes "I don't know what you're doing, son, but I told you before - you can come home anytime. I'll accept you, no matter what."
Rey's gaze finally met his father's, a glimmer of something like hope flickering in his eyes. "You'll accept me now?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
Mr. Chankimha's voice dripped with venom as he gestured towards Freen. "I would have chosen you over her any day, my son. She's nothing but a disappointment."
Rey's expression remained blank, his eyes fixed on his father. "Disappointment?" he repeated, his voice devoid of emotion.
Mr. Chankimha's face twisted in disgust. "I don't recall a single day where I felt happiness because of her. She's stupid, and...and...now a dyke.”
Rey's gaze never wavered. "You don't love her?" he asked, his tone flat.
Mr. Chankimha's response was immediate. "No!"
Rey's voice remained blank. "Not even a little?"
Mr. Chankimha's denial was absolute. "No!"
Rey's eyes seemed to bore into his father's soul as he locked the door behind him. "You know, Father...hah...I was dying to meet you, to call you my dad. But now...I'm thinking of something else."
Mr. Chankimha's confusion got him "What?"
Rey's voice was laced with accusation. "Why didn't you ever come back?"
Mr. Chankimha's expression turned defensive. "I did, Rey. I came back for you after two days, but the situation here wasn't safe for me."
Rey's laughter was sudden and maniacal. "You came back after two days?" He repeated, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
Mr. Chankimha's desperation grew. "I did, I came back to take you with me!"
Rey's laughter intensified, shattering the vase beside him. The sound sent shivers down everyone's spine, especially Mr. Chankimha's. "What are you doing?" he cried out, recoiling in fear.
Finally, Rey's laughter ceased, and he fixed Mr. Chankimha with a piercing stare, his eyes blazing with a mix of emotions.
Rey's voice was menacing. "Sit down on that chair."
Mr. Chankimha hesitated, fear creeping into his eyes. "What?"
Rey's shout sent shivers down Mr. Chankimha's spine. "I SAID SIT DOWN BEFORE I DO SOMETHING CRAZY!"
Mr. Chankimha hastily obeyed, his eyes fixed on Rey's erratic movements. Once seated, Rey swiftly bound Mr. Chankimha's hands and legs to the chair.
"What are you doing, Rey? Are you out of your mind?" Mr. Chankimha said, struggling against the restraints.
"Yeah, I am! And you know who's the cause of it!" He poked Mr. Chankimha's forehead, his eyes blazing with fury.
“YOU” Stepping back, Rey spread his arms wide. "LOOK AT ME, DAMN IT! LOOK AT ME! WHAT I HAVE BECOME? AND FOR WHAT?"
