As I slowly walk towards the stern of the ship, which is me now, I begin reminiscing about the past in a foul mood. One year and two months. One year and two months since I woke up and became a ship. It all started when I woke up in cold steel under the scorn of sunlight penetrating my eyelids. I immediately lifted my right hand to cover the sunlight. When I opened my eyes to adjust to the sunlight, I slowly sat upright and looked around. What I saw left my mouth agape; I somehow found myself on a construction site and have no memory of how I got here besides clearly remembering sleeping in my room last night. I immediately stand up only to see my changed body.

I will admit this was not my proudest moment when I began panicking when I finally calmed down and checked myself. I was no longer a chubby man wearing glasses to see things I was now a rather fit and busty woman wearing a US Navy officer uniform. A white long-sleeve top with a matching white pencil skirt that came down halfway through my thighs. Below that on my legs were black stockings that went down with white high heels. How I didn't notice that I was standing in heels in the first place baffled me. This will be followed by me contemplating my entire existence and the universe as a whole. It began when I was done checking myself and started exploring my surroundings. This led me to discover that I was not in a construction yard but on a ship under construction on a slipway, and by the sheer length and width of the ship under construction, they were building a battleship. I will also learn that I was in New York City in the past, probably somewhere around the 1920s or 1940s, due to the shorter buildings and the missing One World Trade Center in all its glassy glory, or perhaps it was the Empire State Building towering over the other buildings.

This led me to try and walk down the gangplank on the scaffolding attached to the ship only to hit an invisible wall this shocked me and I decided to try again only to hit the said invisible wall again this filled me with anxiety and sat down where I then began thinking about the situation I found myself in. Reality slowly started to set in like an M1 Abrams heading toward me at full throttle, about to crush me under its treads. I was somehow transported back in time as a ship spirit or something. If my memory serves right thanks to Drachinifel, the only battleship under this time was the USS North Carolina BB-55 lead ship of the North Carolina Class Battleship. This led to another realization that I would not only get a front-row seat and watch the Pacific War happen before my eyes I would also serve the meat grinder in the Pacific by escorting the carriers and shore bombardment duties. This led to a lot of questions like, Can I influence my hull once it was completed? Can I save my sister Washington from being scrapped? Which shipgirl series I'm in Azur Lane or Kantai Collection? They have their ups and downs. I still have a lot of unanswered questions, and I tried my best to think of some answers for them that I didn't notice that turned night. I then lie down and try my best to sleep.

When morning came I was roused from my sleep by the chatter of people and their boots hitting my steel hull this caused me to immediately bolt upright as I saw a lot of shipyard workers around me had begun working on my hull I even saw the cranes lowering down large pieces of square steel unto my hull this caused immediately stand up in excitement as I watched the workers work their magic and just like that 8 months past like a destroyer on flank speed that's when I noticed the barbettes that will house my main guns we're wrong. They were placed all in the fore of the ship. This confused me greatly since the US Navy didn't copy nor adopt the all-forward main guns of the Nelson class battleship in any of their warship design. That's when I remembered the preliminary designs of the North Carolina.

This made me laugh a bit remembering what designs thought during the preliminaries of the North Carolina design. It boils down to designing a new generation of American Battleships when the Battleship construction holiday was finished due to the Naval Treaties by the five Major Naval Powers which ended about six years ago in 1933. It also includes the Nelson Class. When the Nelson Class Battleships came out, the US Navy ship designers pondered and tried to reverse engineer the Nelson Class, and by quoting Drachinifel, the Americans thought, "What exactly are the British doing with the Nelson Class?" end quote. When they combined their brain cells to ponder what exactly is the Nelson Class by using the Navy designs calculation and what it would do using their principles, the Nelson Class didn't compute to any of the US Navy standards. This confused them, so they thought again, what exactly is the Nelson Class? They came to one singular conclusion. The Nelson class Battleship must be Battlecarriers.
