The dance at Beacon was still early but more people were coming in by the minute and they were all in formal wear. The guys were wearing tuxedos and the girls were wearing elegant dresses, it was really like a night at the ball. The girls of Team RWBY who were organizing the whole thing were no exception either, Yang was in a white dress the same as Weiss, but Blake was wearing a black and purple one. They all looked beautiful, but the group was not complete as they were missing a certain redhead, not that they were complaining.

It was true that they still wanted to make amends with Ruby but after the verbal beat down they got from her they were fine with delaying that for a little while. The WBY understood they had said bad things about Ruby behind her back, but they believed that what Ruby said about them was worse. Calling Weiss a bitch, reminding Yang that her dating life was nonexistent, and blaming Blake for their encounters with the White Fang was enough to make them want their space from Ruby.

With that in mind, the WBY was going to use this night to have fun and just get Ruby off of their minds for a while. The girl said that she would be completing her make up work so she would not be attending the dance which was no problem to her teammates. The four of them could use some time away from each other and the dance was the perfect way to do that. The girls were going to enjoy the dance to the fullest, the only problem was that only one of them had a date.

It took some consideration, but Blake accepted Sun's offer on going to the dance with him. She did not want to go alone, and she wanted to figure out her feelings for Sun, so she decided to go to the dance with him. Yang and Weiss were not so lucky, no one asked them to the dance, and they would never admit it, but it hurt them. Weiss fully expected Neptune to ask her but that never happened, and Yang expected at least one invitation but got none much to her dismay.

Yang told her that they could not show sadness tonight though, so she just told Weiss to focus on having fun. Yang told Weiss that they could still turn some heads but that didn't really get either of them excited enough. Weiss' pride took a hit when Neptune didn't end up asking her even though that she was so sure he would. Yang was smiling on the outside but on the inside she was upset, especially since this happened after Ruby reminded her of her nonexistent dating life.

Both Weiss and Yang knew that they had to keep their sadness down deep inside for tonight though, because the whole point of this night was to have fun and get a break from the Ruby situation. So that is what they were doing, taking pride in the work that they did and chatting with their friends. They smiled at the compliments they were getting on their decorative work, and they noticed their friends from Team JNPR approaching them.

Nora had on a pink dress while Ren had on a tuxedo with a pink bowtie, they were kind of matching, but Nora insisted that they weren't together. Pyrrha had on a lovely red dress but look saddened because she was apparently alone, and the girls then saw Jaune on the other side looking off into space. The girls had noticed that Jaune had been quiet lately, and he wasn't trying to get Weiss to go on a date with him anymore. Weiss was secretly glad at that fact, but they all wondered what happened to make Jaune act so down.

"Hey you guys, great job with the party!" Ren complimented and the girls smiled.

"Thanks Ren, it was a lot of work, but it turned out great!" Yang said happily.

"I love the aesthetic; it really feels like we are in a fairy tale or something like that. Though the chocolate fountain takes that away, but it is still a nice touch." Pyrrha said sweetly with a smile.

"Thanks, Pyrrha!" Weiss said gratefully and Nora asked the question that they were all thinking.

"So, where's the jerk?" Nora asked bitterly and Weiss and Yang rolled their eyes.
