Izuku couldn't lie that even though he practically went bonkers in the classroom, after he basically confirmed Katsuki's suspicion that he had stared after him, his stupid heart made a happy skip at the thought of spending time together again.
Maybe he is delusional and should let it go, just as Uraraka told him. An anti-staring therapy. Okay, she did not say that last part. But Uraraka was right. It was completely unreasonably to be still sentimental about this stupid blond. Midoriya-kun I think it may be because you have a hard time making friends? Iida told him once. In a friendly sympathetic way. Izuku still cringed inside. He was truly a lost cause. Almost.
Iida and Uraraka were friends of his movie & literature club. The club, founded about a year ago, only consistent out of three members: Uraraka, Iida and himself. The bare minimum to start a club but this was Izuku's little treasure. It's not about the club, but more about the fact that he had found friends at school, good friends who truly cared for him. This motivated him to make it through the school week.
There was also another thing, but he kept that to himself. In a shelf, behind a lock.
When the last school bell rang and Izuku, to his surprise, hurried up to gather his stuff and make his way up to the entrance to meet Katsuki, he had almost missed Iida and Uraraka who waited patiently outside of his classroom to catch him.
"Hello Midoriya!" Iida smiled brightly. Unusual bright. Izuku glanced to Uraraka who practically vibrated of... happiness?
"Hey, what are you up to guys? You seem... to be in a good mood."
Uraraka stepped forward taking a big breath in,
"Okay, don't get too excited but— okay nevermind get very excited because we got a surprise for you!"Izuku couldn't help but smile too. Uraraka's smile was too infections. "Okay," He said a bit uneasy, "Go ahead—"
"We got three tickets to the new musical The Sandman!" She squeaked and held three black tickets up. He was silent for a moment, looking baffled at the paper tangling in front of his face, completely in awe.
Then Izuku bursted out, "No way!"
Uraraka and him made little jumps of joy until Iida mentioned to quiet down the voices, but they simply grabbed his hands and forced him to participate in their little happy dance.
"This is amazing! How, when, like wow! How did you get them?! They usually sold out so fast. How? How did you get them?"
"Well, well we have to thank our rich boy here for his richness and... well connections." Uraraka patted down on Iida's back who turned slightly red and tried to hide his embarrassment behind his bluish glasses which he was adjusting with one hand.
"I simply thought that it would make a great club activity and I know that you have been wanting to get to the musical for ages. Consider this a very early birthday present for the both of you." Iida proudly announced.
Uraraka and Izuku were touched at the sweet words of their close friend. The heart of Izuku filled with warmth. He almost got emotional.
"We should celebrate this!" Uraraka pulled out her old cranky phone and checked her messages. "Oh! My mother got some discounts on the popular mochi shop near school. It's on me!" She beamed at Izuku and Iida. Then she held up a finger, "but only the first round!"
In a sudden realisation, Izuku hastily looked at his wrist at the clock, which Uraraka gifted on his last birthday. He wasn't exactly running late but he will be if he stayed longer.
"Sorry guys," he said apologetically. "I gotta go. I have to do the project with Bakugo today." He threw them an awkward smile.
Both of them went rigid at the mention of Katsuki's name.
