The couch was undeniably comfortable, though a tad too low for Izuku's liking.
Katsuki was leaning back, legs spread wide. The complete opposite next to the blond: Izuku. He sat up straight like an A+ student, thighs together and palms on knees.
When Katsuki had plopped down close to the edge of the couch, Izuku wasn't sure what the right etiquette was. Should he sit right next to Katsuki? Or leave a lot of space between them? Does this look more professional? There was also a chair. Maybe the right thing was to sit down—
Before Izuku had the time to make up his mind Katsuki's hand encircled Izuku's wrist and harshly tugged him down to the couch.
Izuku rubbed the place where Katsuki had touched him. His hand enveloped Izuku's whole wrist with ease. His hands were soft but the tips of his fingertips were rough. Hardened and slightly calloused.
There was half a foot between them.
The air was vibrating through the room.
Izuku could feel Katsuki's warmth.
Their knees were almost touching.
They were left alone for an uncertain amount of time.
Izuku shivered at the thought. He tried to breathe quietly.
To get his mind of his voyaging thoughts, Izuku let his gaze wander over some ethereal beige paintings, to the ceiling (there was a very futuristic looking lamp above them!) and inevitably back to Katsuki who eyed him lazily.
"Why not take both?"
"Yeah sure." Izuku's voice dripped with sarcasm, eyes wide. But glad that Katsuki broke the silence.
That Katsuki snapped Izuku out of his thoughts.
"Why even bother to limit myself with two options?" Izuku gestured widely, emphasising the ridiculousness of this situation. "How about I buy some more, just in case. If one breaks, you know? Because I'm so good at breaking glasses."
Izuku expected Katsuki to bark back at him or say something nasty in return. But he simply asked, "Do you want more?"
Izuku was taken at back at Katsuki's casualness.
I think he doesn't grasp my situation. He never had to think twice before buying something.
How could he? He's rich.
They live in completely different worlds. Izuku could have laughed at the hopelessness.
"Of course I do not want more." Izuku's shoulder sagged forward as he restlessly rocked his knee up and down. "Kacchan, what should I do?" Izuku whined resting his face in his hands.
Izuku didn't have the nerve to analyse why Katsuki didn't complained about his childish behaviour. Why he wasn't his usual grumpy self and knocked some sense into Izuku with some harsh words.
The greenette took a deep breath in, trying to calm down. "I think I want to see the price first and then decide." —Decide if I should run out of here with Kacchan OR risk it and leave him behind trying to save myself first. I'll come back to him eventually. And when he ends up in jail, for some reason, I'll visit him. I promise.
