The Heist (BOOK 1)

Rescue Mission

Tonight was the night.

Hyunjin and Chan were going to be rescued.

Everything and everyone was in place. Failing this mission wasn't an option no matter what. While Yeosang and Mingi were in a van nearby with all of their equipment, the rest went into the Underground.

"You know where they are, right?" Felix asked, aiming his gun as he walked.

"Yeah, follow me." Wooyoung nodded.

It was quiet. Too quiet.

The leader knew Seonghwa and Minho weren't there, but something felt off.

"What's wrong?" Yunho asked, still keeping his guard up.

"Hold on." Wooyoung stopped in his tracks and looked around. "This doesn't make any sense, no one's here."

"How many were here last time?"

"Maybe twenty people? I can't remember. We should split up. Felix, you're with me. Hongjoong, Yunho, and Jongho, go down that hall."

This wasn't at all how he envisioned this. He was expecting murderous shoot outs and casualties. It didn't make any sense to him whatsoever.

"You don't think it's a trap, do you?" Felix quietly asked.

"I'm almost positive that it is."

"Do you think Hyunjin sold us out?"

"No, because I never told him the exact time we were gonna be here."

"What if Seonghwa and Minho are onto you?"

"I think we're about to find out."

Wooyoung slowly opened the door to where Chan and Hyunjin had been held, then turned the light on.

"No, no, no, no." Hyunjin panicked with tears in his eyes, covered in bruises and blood. He was drenched in sweat with most of his clothes torn off. "Guys, you gotta get outta here now!"

"Hyunjin, we're here to rescue you, it's okay." Felix reassured.

"No, it's-"

The door slammed behind Felix and Wooyoung with Minho leaning against it.

"Hey." He smiled like they were best friends. "Lovely to see you again, blondie." He immediately shot Felix in the stomach without hesitation.

"Felix!" Hyunjin shouted.

"You're fun." Minho put the barrel of the gun underneath Wooyoung's chin and pushed him against the wall. "You have Seonghwa fooled, but certainly not me."

"Wooyoung, he's-"

"Quiet!" He shouted.

"What do you want?" Wooyoung replied, trying his best to remain calm.

"What do I want? What do you want? You're the one that's gotten this shit show started. Clearly, it's you that wants something."

"Please, don't kill him." Hyunjin sobbed, unable to control his emotions.

As a response, Minho shot Felix in the back. "Is that what you want? If you keep crying like a fucking baby, he's gonna get another one. Your big mouth already got him killed. Do I need to do this again?"

"What?" Felix faintly lifted his head. "Who?"

"I'm so sorry." Hyunjin whispered, covering his face with shaky hands.

Once Hongjoong told Minho they were on their way, he shot Chan right in the face, killing him instantly. The rescue mission was already a failure before it even began.
