Here's a thing I made for a class like a year ago :)

21st of November 2023

Oh no no no, something's wrong, something's VERY WRONG. it was just a normal day, the sun was shining, birds were singing, it was perfect. I was just relaxing after helping Mama clean the house, and suddenly, I felt the ground shake very strangely, like the very core of reality was breaking. I looked through a window to the sky, and the lovely blue faded to a horrifying mix of blood red and black. Then the sky cracked, and a thousand staring eyes appeared. I heard Mama screaming in another room, and rushed to her as fast as I could. As I entered the room, I saw a pitch-black silhouette of a human that I can only describe as a shadow man. standing over Mama. He quickly looked at me and disappeared like a glitch. We panicked and very quickly got some of our stuff and ran to our safe room. It's very old and stinky here. Smells like someone died... TWICE... but I managed to get my diary while running down here, so that's why I'm writing in you. We got some food and water, but not much. Neither of us are very talented in magic that could help like Water and Plant magic. Worst of all, most of the food we got were beans. Just beans. I hate beans. They're just... horrible. Mama's still panicking, but I've managed to calm down... on the outside. I'm so scared, my friends don't have safe rooms, they could be dead and I just... no. No, they MUST be alive. They have to be. I can't talk now, Mama needs help getting some last materials, so I'll talk more tomorrow. Please, someone, save us.

24th of November 2023

It's been a few days in the safe room. We've run out of most of our food and water, one of us will have to try and get more stuff. We've been mostly fine here, except for when we need to... expel my waste. I've seen the shadow man destroying multiple rooms in the house, and it's only seen me once. It slowly approached me... I panicked and tried attacking it... missed every attack but we don't need to talk about that! I managed to scare it off... I think. Man, I hate it here. It stinks! I have to get out, I won't be confined by anything or anyone! Unless they threaten me with beans. I have a plan though! I'm gonna wait till Mama finally falls asleep and sneak out! Then I'll get food and water and... Oh! I hear Mama sleeping! OK, gotta go!

25th of November 2023

I couldn't do it. I was too scared. I heard the screaming outside and when I opened the door... I just froze. The bodies... the home I once knew now destroyed my friends are gone.... Mama had to save me but now... she's gone. She said to run inside and hide but I just... froze. Because of my actions, she got pulled away by the shadow man. There's barely anything else to eat or drink. I have to go outside, but I'm too scared. I'm so sorry Mama. I have to calm down or else I'm gonna have a heart attack. Think about the people I love, my friends and my family but now they're all gone... I'm so sorry everyone, this is all my fault and...

No. I'm not giving up. My family needs me, my friends need me. I NEED ME. I have to overcome this challenge, I WILL OVERCOME THIS CHALLENGE. This may be my last entry if everything goes wrong, but if so, I won't die a coward. I'm going to save them, all of them. Goodbye.
