The wind whistled through the trees, sounding like a ghost flying it's way past.
The leaves branches shook with the strength, the leaves fluttering gently in the chilly breeze.
In the distance, coyotes could be heard, howling at the morning sky after catching their meal, faint from far away.
Drip Drip Drip
Rain started to slowly pitter patter onto the cardboard box below, the box slowly soaking up the moisture from the rain, it grew steadily faster.
Drip Plop Drop Drop Drop
A small paw slowly reached out, hesitantly putting weight down on to the cement below.
A sleek, soft body slowly made it's way out of the box, shaking the rain from it's pelt before stretching.
Suddenly, loud barking could be heard in the distance.
Liam stiffened, ears perking.
Was that dogs?...
It sounded like it but he sniffed the air for more proof.
Sure enough, there was that retched smell coming from the fields where the cows and horses were kept.
The barking grew louder and out the corner of Liam's eye he swore he could make out the shapes of the dogs and another figure running from them.
Liam tilted his head to the side, analyzing this figure, running gracefully through the grass.
Too big to be a rabbit but to small to be a fox...
Liam shook himself, knowing it would stupid and dangerous but he needed to find out what that figure was out there.
He took a deep breath and suddenly bolted, straight towards the dogs, horses, cows, and the mysterious figure.
He soon got close enough to distinguish what the figure was and he flattened his ears, realizing it was a cat, but not just any cat.
