It was of a ordinary day the sun was out and the sky was cloudless. I sat outside in the backyard underneath a huge shady Oak Tree munching on a popsicle; I believe it was banana flavored. I sighed. Today is a perfect day until that is my best friend Nepal showed up.
Now Nepal was my best friend in the whole wide world and not just a best friend... He meant much more to me than he knew more than even I knew. I thought it was neat how we both were named after places from the world.
Nepal was a tall 16 year old with black hair and dirty blonde streaks. He had bangs that were choppy and razored and swished across his forehead. He wore his favorite band t-shirt and black skinny jeans with navy blue Converse.
Nepal sat down beside me and grabbed my popsicle and took a bite out of it.
"Yum banana my favorite"
"Hey!?" I said in a playful way trying to grab it back. But Nepal was a bit taller with longer arms and held it out of reach. He stood up and took a big bite out of my frozen treat. I pushed him into he grass and started to tickle him in all of his ticklish spots.
"Okay okay I retreat!" He said laughing.
I grabbed the rest of the popsicle which was about one bite and ate the rest satisfied.
"So Indonesia, wanna go to the lake?"
"Not right now Nepal, that's sweet of you but I just can't..."
"Are you sure would you like me to help or-"
"Nepal no I'm sorry but some other time okay?"
"Why can't you ever have time to do anything?"
"Nepal please you'll just make it worse."
"Well I'm sorry I wanna spend time with my best friend!" He snapped and stomped off and slammed the gate behind him.
I sighed and went to go get another popsicle that I could officially call mine and eat the whole thing.
However I kept pondering what Nepal said. I never knew that he felt neglected but I brushed off the thought because right now was a moment of peace I haven't had since middle school and it just got ruined and turned into a hell of a day.
Damn I ruin everything. I thought. I was an over thinker and all I could think about was how my life was scarred. I shouldn't have neglected my best friend. Now your probably wondering what the heck is this story supposed to tell!? Well let's go back 1 year from now and then you'll know how everything happened.
