If you ask Dominique Mendoza what happened during the first of September, she would skewer your heart.

So it's our little secret I'm telling you this, 'kay?

"Achoo!" She sneezed─and gently, the blanket curled as Niknik's senses took over her dreams. "So cold..." Upon utterance, the bed rotting belle conceived pictures of Brooklyn area's vast prairie in bloom─an enclave of beasts and butterflies.

Her first lament upon taking the haberdasher's bill was that they were to be dispatched to the Princeton territory. About nineteen hours away from home, and the task was to hunt wild bears for their hides. Imagine walking the distance from Manhattan, camping out for days until achieving the threshold mark, and walking back.

Skin couldn't help but be drenched.

She must have sweated buckets.

More so as it was August.

A midsummer in the revelry of towering cumulonimbus clouds and actively blinding sunlight.

"96,000 Bronze coins."

So that'd be converted to more or less 9 Gold and 60 silver coins.

This was a job for Silver parties. Given the profit, it's already worth a new selection of cheap plates from the thrift section. Well, it has to be split so that's an acute train of thought. She'd only receive a fourth of that total reward.

Means a payment of 2 Gold and 40 Silver coins.

That'd be a limited edition tunic, a set of bargain arm guards, and spare change.

With 950 Silver coins as partial payment, the universe has given her an ability to buy her first "haute couture."

"...A new dress." Niknik could only huff a sigh.

She bought one.

"It's crazy when you get into these silly hypotheticals." Chimed Lynn, her sister, when she coerced her to buy it yesterday.

But as it was, Niknik's dream arm guards couldn't be purchased with her partial payment. She could only afford the tunic...the limited edition dress she'd buy with her own money for the first time in her life.

Never take her wrong because she'd rather not compromise comfort over defense. Also, she promised she'd protect herself if she'd be out exploring the frontier. So, the arm guards' at the top of her priority list.

However, it'll be the plan for next time.

First of all, it's been a disappointment: it was about a week ago when it happened─and they were unable to spot a devil bear.

However, it's not because of the obvious thought.

"I'm sorry girls...but something urgent came up," their uncle Kai apologized to them, midway in their trail not even crossing the border.

You're left in the grasslands and your party leader receives a call.

When a group of three bored girls are left in a grassy knoll, of course the chaos is unleashed. Not a split second wasted, and the dandelion tufts all fly in a picturesque scene. Endearing laughter resonated─only moments before the anticlimax.

Well, honestly, they couldn't have proceeded otherwise.

"You have a pollen allergy," the local doctor diagnosed.

Long story short: when they arrived back home to Manhattan, her soul was drained.

Niknik opened the door home feeling all blue. The fact that she had nothing done loomed a distraught treble. Eyes worn out, she stopped to think─and let out a seemingly harmless sneeze.
