Aadya was on her way to the cafe outside her university. Whenever, a new cafe opens; Aadya is the first one to check that out being the foodie she is. She was walking through the footpath at the sides, when she saw a small child dressed in ragged clothes, tattered and faded. His face was pale with a subtle greyish undertone, a testamont to the scarcity of nutricious food in his life.

He was staring at the food stall standing at the opposite side of the road.

Aadya approached the boy and sweetly asked him,
"What's up buddy, aise kya dekh rakhe ho "
[ What are you looking at ]

The boy looked at Aadya and fumbled with his hands, staring at Aadya with nervousness. Aadya sensing the anxiousness of the boy said
" No need to be scared kiddo, do you want anything? "

The boy did not utter a word but simply pointed at the stall. Aadya smiled at him,
" Wait here, main leke aati hun "
[ I'll bring it ]
Aadya spoke and hastily crossed the road. She grabbed the candy and some fruits for him. She paid for the goods and turned. Her eyes fixed on the opposite sidewalk. As she walked through the sidewalk , Aadya's heartbeat quickened in terror with the sight of a car hurtled towards her. Time seems to slow down as she froze. Her arms outstretched in a futile attempt to halt the vehicle's progress. It's tires screeching as the the driver struggled to maintain control.

She squeezed her eyes shut ready for the impact, when she felt someone grabbing her wrist, sweeping in their arms, tackling her to the ground with a thud. The car whizzed pass , mere inches from their entwined forms, it's horn blaring in anger.

Aadya's eyes blinked open, she lifted her head to acknowledge her savior. As she looked, her eyes widened with astonishment as it was Reyaan. Maintaining her composure, she stood up along with Reyaan, his hand lingering on her elbow.

"Are you okay? " Reyaan asked her with a calm voice.

"Y-yeah" She responded still a bit shaken and tried to process what just happened.

"Thankyou" Aadya spoke sincerely, her eyes reflecting her sincere emotion and gratitude.
Reyaan returned it with a smile.

"You should be careful. Look around before crossing the road the next time." Reyaan spoke in concern . Aadya nodded and smiled at him, her heart running a marathon as it was the first time they were conversing alone.

As she felt some weight in her hands, she looked at it to see the bag of food, she got for the boy. She looked around to see the boy sitting at the side path, she smiled and moved towards him.
