Aadya was standing in the kitchen, her phone propped up against a jar of cookies as she video called her mom. Everyone except Shrey and Alia were sitting on the kitchen island silently observing the conversation. Aadya was munching on her chocolates while talking to her.
"Maza aa raha hai waha? " Her mother, Sabhyata asks her. [ Are you having fun there? ]
"Nahi mumma, main itni bore ho rahi hoon yaha. Sirf bhajan aur kirtan karte rehte hai hum" [ No mom, I am so bored here. All we do is pray andsing ] Aadya spoke sarcastically causing snickers between the friends.
Her mom rolled her eyes at her daughter's dramatics.
"Agar aisa hai toh mein book kardeti hun wapasi ki ticket, kya kehti hai" [ If that's the case, I'll book your return tickets, what say? ] Her mom spoke.
Aadya's eyes widen horifically and she quickly interjects, "Mazak tha mummy, mazak. App bhi har cheez seriously le leti ho. Take a chill pill" [ I was just kidding mumma. Don't take it seriously]
"Aa gayi line par" [ Back on the track] Divyansh mutters in the background erupting chuckles from everyone.
"App kahi jaa rahi ho" [ Are you going somewhere? ] Aadya questions,
"Haa (yes) , for the chemo therapy of your grandma" Sabhyata replied.
"Kyun, dobara relapse ho gaya hai? " [ Why? Did it relapse? ] Aadya asked immediately turning serious.
Her mom simply nods. "Shrey aur Alia aur tumhare baaki dost kaha hai? " [ Where is Shrey, Alia and the rest of your friends? ] Her mother asked quickly changing the subject not wanting to ruin her daughter's mood on the trip.
"Aapko mere se zyaada aloo ki chinta hai na" [ You are more worried about Alia than me ] Aadya faked gasps.
"Aur kya kitni pyaari bachhi hai, meri aloo" [ Obviously, she is such a sweet child ] Her mom replied smirking and Aadya rolled her eyes. Everyone who was listening the conversation stiffled their laughs.
Shrey entered the kitchen but did not notice that Aadya was talking to their mother. He took a pillow from nearby and hit it on her head. Aadya glared at him and punched him back. This lead to their everyday fight.
"Ek kaam karo, dono ek ek danda pakdo aur mar daalo ek dusre ko. Peecha chutte mera tum dono bhai behno se, jahillo" [ Grab two sticks each and kill each other. I will also get rid of you guys, idiots ] Their mother's voice boomed from the call. Everyone burst out laughing. Shrey gulped watching his mom.
