Alexandra placed the rose in a glass bottle after filling it with water and moved it on her desk beside the window, letting it bask in the Sun.

She opened her notebook, the one brought by Xander. And the anger that had been clawing at her heart evaporated in an instant as she flipped the pages.

The exact same handwriting as hers...

Her lips quirked as her eyes passed over a discrete smiley he made at the corner of the page, and the way he copied the way she wrote her y's and g's, which were the only distinctions in their hand writings. Her fingertips grazed the words softly in a caress, her mind conjuring up images of him writing it...that tattoo of an arrow peeking out of his sleeves, that watch on his wrist...and then his dazzling smile directed at only her that would bloom like a dark flower, like this rose.

She wanted to hold the rose in her hands, to touch those pretty petals that she knew meant something...her hand froze in midair, hovering about them.

She heard about flowers dying quickly if they were touched by certain people. And as silly as it might sound, she did not want to test that on herself so she quietly extended her hand back.

Purple with dark undertones of blue...

She knew a little bit about the language of flowers, their subtle yet immense meanings. Her heart raced just thinking about it so she looked away. Down at her books to calm herself and started going through the notes. Her heart was racing way too fast at the moment. She needed to calm down.

After finishing up her work, she opened her laptop.

"What do bluish purple roses indicate?" She typed in and went through different sources, resorting to a certain ai at last.

Blue roses, although not naturally occurring and often created through dyeing or genetic modifications, carry a unique symbolism in the language of flowers. They are generally associated with mystery, the unattainable, or the impossible. The rarity and the striking appearance of blue roses make them a symbol of fascination and a way to express feelings that transcend the usual norms.

Her traitorous heart betrayed the calm on her face.

Additionally, blue roses can represent something that is extraordinarily special and unique because of their rarity in nature. They can also signify a desire for the mysterious or the unexplored. In romantic contexts, blue roses can express deep admiration for something that is uniquely beautiful and almost otherworldly.

In some interpretations, they can also symbolize a hope for miracles and new possibilities.

Thus, giving a blue rose might be a way to convey that the recipient is extraordinarily special and unique, or it might suggest a deep intrigue and a fascination with the mysterious aspects of their personality.

The stalk was free of thorns.

She bit her lip, her eyes straying back to the flower that was now illuminated in the evening rays, as if subtly declaring what it meant for her. For her heart. That traitorous bastard of a heart that would not stop racing at all.

She couldn't help it.

Her lips stretched into a smile that she had unknowingly reserved just for him.

Not when it was because of him.

She hunched over her desk, the soft breeze through the window brushing her hair back. She closed her eyes and relished in the feeling. How long has it been since she felt this way? So alive, so excited. She covered her burning face with her hand, giving up on trying to control her grin.
