"Hey Xan! You trust me right?"

An innocent grin, light dancing in his narrowed-down eyes.

"Xan," a smile that couldn't have been more mocking, filled with arrogance. Arrogance at having the Xander Knight at his mercy. "You trusted me right?"

The morning rays illuminated the figure sleeping on the bed, the warmth they brought unable to do anything to the frown on his lips deepening with every passing second. His fingers involuntarily clenched the pillow of a paper airplane beside him.

"Let me beat his sorry piece of shi- crap ass up." the voice was like the fresh breeze of air dispelling the foggy memories around him. It made him feel warm. That voice which he could recognize anywhere. That familiarity.

He asked, in amusement "Sorry piece of what?"

"Crap. I said crap."

A tiny drop of water glistened in the sunlight, as it slipped out from the corner of his eye. His grip on the pillow seemed to have loosened and the previously clenching fingers stroked the pillow lightly.

"Did you see the moon tonight?"

It was a different voice this time - the soft, feminine voice that he'd begun to filter out everywhere. There seemed to be something more alongside the excitement in her voice, something that made his heart pick up a pace, even if it was just a dream. And just as his lips began curling up, as if being pulled by a magnetic field, a loud knock sounded from his door.

The magnetic field had disappeared and his lips returned back to their previous frown. His hand left the pillow. And Xander Knight unwillingly came back to his inescapable reality.

Trying to rub the sleep out of his eyes, he sat up and glanced at his phone.

He had taken it to check the time, but his eyes didn't even peek a glance at it. Instead, they strayed to the notifications displayed below it. He swiped a few of them, which were memes and texts from his brothers. A subtle sense of disappointment slowly began shrouding his heart...until he saw Alexandra's name.

Heart racing and his mind weaving countless thoughts about what she could've replied, he unlocked his phone and opened her text.

Xan_H: Please tell me why you were feeling upset before I dropped you off. Don't lie because I know you were definitely not in a good mood.

Alexandra19: It's nothing, just some middle school memories coming back. :)

She'd also replied to each and every text and question he sent.

Xan_H: Hey.

Alexandra19: Yooo.

Xan_H: You obviously are. Sorry, I won't disturb you... Although a chocolate would be nice now.

Alexandra19: I did study...but it's probably going to waste now cause I'm skipping today.

He felt as if his heart almost stopped beating. That disappointment immediately engulfed his heart completely, nothing could push it out now.

He immediately sent a text asking why, with three question marks.

Xan_H: You obviously are. Sorry, I won't disturb you... Although a chocolate would be nice now.

Alexandra19: Yeah I could also really use a chocolate rn, I was saving up the one you gave but I couldn't hold myself back. 😂

He couldn't stop his lips from twitching a little, internally thinking of getting a few more of those Kitkats to give her. Maybe he could have the different flavored ones sent here from Japan...
