After Jed kicked those Reds' butts, we all went to Mrs. Kidneys class. The classroom was already full when we walked in, but our seats were opened and un-messed with, probably because of Jed.

Mrs. Kidney marched up to Jed and put her hands over her hips. "I was told you would be in handcuffs!"

Jed grinned happily and held up his bloody wrists, rubbed raw from him yanking at the cuffs. "I don't gots 'em no more!"

Mrs. Kidney eyed Jed before she sighed. "Just go sit in your seats and try not to make trouble."

Jed saluted her. "Ma'am, yes ma'am!"

Cameron snorts and drags Jed over to his seat, Micky and Sammy walking behind us. Sammy caught my shirt and gently tugged me back. "James?"

I looked at his hand until he removed it. "Yes Sammy?"

Sammy smirked. "I want you to stick around Jed."

I tilted my head. "Why?"

Sammy shrugged. "So he doesn't kill anyone. If he gets worked up just calm him down."

"Won't he hit me?" I asked. I didn't want to get hit.

Sammy shook his head. "You're his favorite, and he said he'd protect you, so he'd never hit you."

"How can you know that?" I questioned, crossing my arms over my chest and frowning.

"Just do. Now go sit down."

I looked over at Jed who had his head on the desk, sleeping. "Okay."
