One day, the Elemental Spirits embarked on a hunt for lost souls in the vicinity, bringing them before me to determine their fate as Slime or White Spirits. Encountering one soul that fell between the levels of White and Red Spirits, I placed it in the White Spirit category to spare it the challenges of the Red Spirit education.
Summoning it to my room for tutoring due to its unique status, a bond formed between us. Yet, the mystery of its placement between the two levels troubled me - an anomaly that seemed impossible to explain.
Noticing White Spirit #153 on the brink of a panic attack, I soothed its fears. Intrigued, I delved into its thoughts and found a plea for mercy: "P-please d-d-don't kill m-me!"
Deciding to confront the issue, I summoned it to my office the next morning.
(Time skips to the next day morning...)
In my office, filled with curiosity about White Spirit #153's enigmatic position between levels, I broached the subject delicately.
{Me}: "I know this is personal, but I must ask - what transpired in your past life?"
Speaking with a mix of curiosity and empathy.

Nervously and somewhat childishly.

{White Spirit #153}: "Oh! She was a friend..."
Its expression darkened.
{Me}: "What happened to your friendship?"
With genuine concern.
{White Spirit #153}: "S-she replaced me and then we had a fight... She took a knife and stabbed me in the chest..."
Amidst tears, I offered comfort.
{Me}: "There, there... she can't hurt you anymore. You're safe now."
I said softly.
{Me}:(thinking)Why do White Spirit #153 and White Spirit #148's past stories resonate so closely, almost as if they are intertwined...
