'Forgiveness is a state of mind'~NANA~
At exactly 2 pm, I was already sitting in an exquisite restaurant flipping through my Instagram page for lack of what to do.
I kept my gaze on the door awaiting the arrival of one arrogant Lucas Robert to make his grand entrance as per the king of rudeness that he is.
One hour passed by and no sign of him could be seen and I was losing my patient. I pick up the menu and scan through it for the hundredth of times.
I weigh down the urge to put a call through to him.
My other free hand picks up the glass of water in front of me and I gulp everything down in one draw.
What is keeping him? I peeked through the window and saw the traffic gradually building up on the road.
Maybe he is stuck in traffic but can't he have some common sense to put a call through knowing that a lady is waiting for him in a restaurant?
One hour turns to three hours. By now, I was beyond furious and my patience was out the window.
I dialed the number he used to call me earlier in the morning and it rang endlessly and no one answered. I kept calling and the same response was what I got.
The waiter kept coming to ask me to place an order and I finally settled for salad and grilled fish.
The food arrived a few minutes later, I ate it slowly still gluing my eyes to the entrance of the restaurant. My appetite wasn't there anymore but I just ate to while away time.
By 5:40 pm, I stood up and put some money under the glass that once contained water and set to walk out but a figure walked towards me in a hurry. He seems to be out of breath.
I pause and stare at the man in front of me. His shoulders were quite broad and his body was well-built. His black suit makes him appear like a hired assassin. He was quite taller than me which had me straining my neck to capture his face.
A second glance at his face, I noticed he was quite handsome but he wasn't smiling at all which makes his aura a bit frightening. Is he always this serious? I ask myself then take a step back when I realise the proximity that we were.
He cleared his throat and tried to scan my face for a split second then straightened himself. All these he did simultaneously.
"Excuse me, miss. Are you Miss Nana Anderson?" He asked politely.
His voice was different from when he spoke this morning and he addressed me quite respectfully considering he spoke rudely to me on the phone. I intended to kill somebody's son, I might as well give him a benefit of a doubt and listen to the crap he will say.
"Who is asking?" I asked and wrapped my hands on my chest imitating an angry look.
He reveals a faint smile at my action.
"My boss sent me to you," He said.
"Your boss? Does this boss of yours happen to have a name?" I drop my hands abruptly already knowing the boss wasn't anyone else but Lucas.
"Yes, forgive me. Mr. Lucas"
"I see" I let out and snarl.
My anger split out in a minute.
"He stood me up, let me settle here for nothing then he gracefully sent his assassin to me by this time? Tell him to go to hell!" I pick up my bag and slightly brush past him then remember I didn't pick up my phone.
