so you decided on who the real monster was, did you? well, if you're still here then i'm assuming that you don't think it was me...
when the monster finally gives you a break from being haunted, maybe it's because he was busy visiting your loved ones, trying to possess them and infect their minds...
if that's the case, how many of us are really left?

None of us moved. We all just stared back at her as she stared back at every single one of us. Her big eyes stayed wide and her skin was pale and uncared for. Three months she'd been gone and it looked as if she suffered for every single one she spent away from us.
"Sadie?" Dina said as she gasped with every single breath. She slowly walked towards her as if she was afraid she'd disappear if she approached her too quickly. Sadie looked back at her mother and tears escaped from her eyes. She threw her arms around her and they both began crying. Dina tightened her arms around Sadie and put her hand on the back of her head. "We missed you so much, we searched for you. We did."
"I know," Sadie finally spoke and I looked over at Zack who was wide-eyed but looked relieved that his baby sister was finally home.
Nathan was the next one to step towards his daughter and his big arms made her disappear as he threw them around her. He too, was in tears.
"Jesus! Where the hell have you been?" he asked as he rested his head on top of hers before pulling back to look at her.
"I missed you guys so much," Sadie cried, avoiding the question she was just asked. Dina dried the tears on her Sadie's face and kissed her on the head.
Sadie looked around at Zack who stood staring back her, looking like an injured animal with tears in his eyes and trying his hardest not to break.
"You came back," his voice broke.
"I couldn't miss your birthday," Sadie smiled and as the tears fell from his eyes, Zack walked towards her and gave her the biggest hug ever. Dina covered her mouth as more tears fell from her eyes. Nathan put his arm around her and pulled her into him. I looked at Frankie who smiled back at me. My mom folded her arms and smiled at Dina. She was happiest for everyone else today.
When I looked back at Sadie, she was now looking at me. She looked as if she didn't know what to say but she spoke anyway.
"I'm so sorry," she whispered and I lowered my eyebrows.
"You're sorry?"
"I ruined your birthday party," she said.
"Sadie," I shook my head. "You don't need to worry about that."
"I should never have left that might, I'm so sorry." She walked towards me and hugged me. She still smelled warm and her skin was still soft and I only now realised how much I'd missed her. "It feels like it's been so long. Last time I saw you, you were still pregnant."
I know she expected us to laugh but no one did. Sadie's half smile quickly faded.
"What? Nothing happened to the baby, did it?"
"No, he's fine," Zack told her.
"Oh, you guys had a boy!" she exclaimed. "Well, I don't understand. If he's okay then what's the problem?"
"Nothing, it's just that, Bailie's pregnant again."
"Again? Jesus, you don't waste a second."
"It's not mine," Zack told her and Sadie gave him a strange look. "It's Hunter's baby."
"What?!" Sadie yelled with the most shocked look on her face. "Wh- how the hell did that happen?"
"He raped her, that's how."
Sadie looked at me again and her face was different this time. Her eyes stayed on mine and her body tensed up. "He raped you?" I nodded my head. "When?"
"Two months ago," I told her.
"Oh, my God." She has no idea how to process this. "Is there anything else I should know?"
We all looked at each other before answering her.
"Look, all that matters right now is that you're home," Dina said. "You don't need to worry about what you missed right now."
"Can you please tell me everything?" Sadie asked.
"We will, I promise."
"Do you promise to do the same?" Zack asked Sadie and she looked at him but she didn't answer him. Everyone's eyes were on Sadie.
"Please don't ask me to do that," she begged.
"You owe us, Sadie," Zack said with a growl in his voice as the tears still sat on his face. "You just left out of the blue. Why?"
"You have no idea the worry we've been through," Nathan said as he looked into his daughter's eyes. "We just want answers."
"I'm not sure I can give you any," she told us. "I mean, there's not much to tell."
"No one just disappears for three months for no reason."
Sadie decided in that moment that she wasn't saying another word and we all knew that. She just continued to stare back at her desperate parents. She had the same look of misery in her eyes as they did. She wanted to talk. She just wouldn't.
"Okay, okay," Dina tried to diffuse the situation. "Look, we've just been so worried about and we missed you so much but we don't need to talk about anything tonight. Why don't you go and get yourself a shower and I'll put fresh sheets on your bed and fix you up something to eat."
Sadie looked back at Dina and showed the gratitude towards her for not pushing her any further. She nodded her head and left to walk upstairs. Dina kept her eyes on her to make sure she didn't leave again. She then sighed as she sat down on the chair.
"Why aren't you more upset about this?" Nathan asked her.
"I am upset, Nate," she told him. "But, what do you expect me to do? She literally just walked through the door after three months so forgive me if upsetting her any further is the last thing I wanna do."
Nathan knew she was right and so did the rest of us. We were just glad she was back.
