Alex groaned in annoyance when Tiger sniffed the strings of his guitar, stopping him from playing. Alex scooped the cat up and set him down by his side. "No," Alex waved his finger at Tiger and then began to strum the strings of his guitar again.
Tiger crawled into Alex's lap, finding comfort in the warmth and darkness from the guitar blocking the light. Alex quietly hummed the tune of the song before he played it on the guitar.
But somehow, over the sound of the guitar, Alex heard your giggling. He pressed his fingers against the strings, silencing the guitar. He lifted his head and looked back at the wall. "Shut up, idiot!" You laughed with Luis. Alex tensed up, he bit his cheek and tapped his hand against the guitar, listening to your giggles angered him.
Alex lifted his guitar up and picked up Tiger with the other, he set the cat back down on the bed and stood up. Alex left the room and went to the bathroom, he gripped the neck of the guitar in his hand and glared at himself in the mirror. Alex huffed and threw his guitar, but it wasn't like it went anywhere, he had a small bathroom. "Fuck-- fucking, shit!" He grabbed the sides of his cabinet mirror, trying to pull it off the wall but did nothing.
He dropped to the floor, next his the guitar, that was awkwardly stuck between the toilet and the bathtub. Alex crossed his arms over his head and took a deep breath. In his mind, Luis shouldn't even be near you. How could you laugh with someone who had hit you just a few days ago?
Alex took in a shaky breath, flinching when he felt something wet tap against his arm. He peeked past his arm and saw Tiger. Alex sighed and pulled his cat into a loose hug, he kissed the top of Tiger's head and then let go so he wouldn't attack him.
He couldn't get the sound of your laughter out of his mind, it made him happy that you were happy but at the same time, why were you happy with Luis? Did you completely disregard what Alex had said the night of the black out? Had you not cared for his concern? Alex pushed himself back up to his feet, he stumbled into the door and slipped past Tiger.
