THIRTEEN
Alex played with the camera in his hands, shuddering at the uncomfortable feeling of the felt strap, connected to the camera, running against the back of his neck.
His bored eyes darted around the café. He sighed and Roier, who had been sitting across from Alex, stared at him. "You seem so sad lately.. ¿Por qué estás triste, mi amado?" "Why are you sad, my beloved?" Roier asked. Alex sighed again, dropping his head onto the table. Roier pouted and pat his friend's head.
"I'll feel bad if I tell you," Alex admitted. He lifted his head and stared at Roier. The taller man was confused.
"Why would you feel bad?" Roier questioned, completely lost on why his friend would feel bad for explaining why he was sad.
"We haven't hung out in a while, and I feel like if I tell you all my problems, I'm gonna be a bad friend" Alex explained to Roier before dropping his head back onto the table. "It'll feel like I'm just using you as a therapist"
"Well, I'll listen! I don't think you'll be a bad friend" Roier assured his friend. He noticed Alex was still unsure about telling him his problems. "You care about me, right?"
"Of course," Alex replied. His eyebrows furrowed as he sat up right and looked at Roier. "Of course I do, Roier. Why would you say that?"
"Because," Roier smiled at Alex. "If you care about me, then you're a good friend-- you deserve to tell people how you feel, mi sol bonito" ", my pretty sun" He cooed. Alex scrunched up his face, trying not to smile at what Roier had said. "Tell me, please..!" Roier grabbed both his friend's hands and hid them in his own.
"Okay, okay" Alex giggled, pulling his hands away from Roier's and setting them on the table. When his face noticeably saddened, Roier's eyes softened. "Uh, well.. I'm actually not sad, just annoyed"
