For my fifteenth birthday I received a teal and blue tapestry from my step father
I thought he chose ugly colors and thought about how I did not want to hang it up in my room
I must have made a disappointed face because then my step father asks "you wanted a bigger tapestry, right?"
Just a few weeks earlier I had received a small tapestry that was half the size the website promised
I remember complaining about it to my parents
My step father, who has been in my life for 5 years straight managed to buy me a large tapestry that he himself picked out
My biological father, who has been in my life for 15 years, has never once bought me a gift from past conversation. In fact, I do not think my father has ever bought me a present that he ordered himself.
It seems like such a small gesture
To me it was not
I love my step father as if he was my biological father
