"Lea must be thrilled to get outside," Nayeon said with a playful grin, her breath forming little puffs of mist in the cold air. Jeongyeon chuckled. "Absolutely. She's been waiting for this all day. And I think she's gotten a bit more spoiled since you've been around. She always expects extra treats when you're here."

Nayeon laughed, squeezing Jeongyeon's hand. "Guilty as charged. I just can't help it, Lea's such a sweetheart. And besides, it's nice to see her so happy."

When they arrived at Jeongyeon's cozy apartment, the warmth from inside greeted them. Jeongyeon fumbled with her keys, finally opening the door to reveal a welcoming interior decorated with festive decorations. A large Christmas tree stood in the corner of the living room, with twinkling lights and golden ornaments, per Nayeon's request.

Lea, who's gotten even bigger, bounded up to them, her butt wagging furiously. Jeongyeon let out a relieved sigh as Lea jumped up to greet them, her joyful barks echoing through the apartment.

"Alright, alright! Let's get you outside," Jeongyeon said as she grabbed Lea's leash.

Nayeon watched with a fond smile, her heart warmed by the sight of Jeongyeon and Lea. It was moments like these that made everything feel right in the world. She took a moment to appreciate the simple joy of being with Jeongyeon, of sharing these small but significant pieces of life.

While Jeongyeon was busy getting Lea ready, Nayeon took the opportunity to look around the apartment. She noticed the framed photos of Jeongyeon's family, friends, and Nayeon included. The love and care Jeongyeon put into her home were evident, and it only made Nayeon admire her more.

As Jeongyeon and Lea headed out the door, Nayeon followed, pulling her coat tighter against the chill. They took a stroll around the neighborhood, enjoying the peaceful silence enhanced by the soft crunch of snow underneath. The girls talked as they walked, mostly about how excited Nayeon was to have another sibling.

Lea took care of her business and headed back to the two girls. They continued their walk, enjoying each other's company and the festive atmosphere of the neighborhood. As they approached Jeongyeon's apartment again, Lea seemed content and ready to settle down. Back inside, Jeongyeon removed Lea's leash and let her settle by her bed. 

As they sat on the couch, wrapped in warm blankets, Nayeon looked at Jeongyeon with a soft smile. "Ugh, I never want moments like this to end. Why can't I just handcuff you to me and keep you with me 24/7." Jeongyeon laughed at her, "I'm practically with you 24/7, although it wouldn't hurt me to be chained to you forever." The evening was filled with quiet conversations, laughter, and the comforting presence of each other.

Jeongyeon's job finally went on winter break, meaning Christmas was approaching rather fast. Nayeon and Jeongyeon were spending their time together as normal, but a little more festive, if you would say so. One crisp December 24th morning, Nayeon and Jeongyeon were sipping their coffee in the kitchen, surrounded by the soft glow of fairy lights and the cheerful clutter of holiday decorations. They were discussing their plans for Christmas Eve when Jeongyeon's phone buzzed with a new message.

Jeongyeon glanced at the screen, her eyes widening in surprise. "It's a message from Mrs. Chu! I mean your mom!"

Nayeon's heart skipped a beat. "What does it say?"

Jeongyeon opened the message and read aloud:

"Hi, Jeongyeon and Nari(I figured you two are together right now anyway), I have some exciting news! The doctors have given us the green light, and it looks like the baby is ready to make its debut sooner than expected. I'm scheduled to be induced this afternoon. I can hardly believe it—Christmas really is coming early this year! I'll keep you updated as soon as I can. Please keep us in your thoughts. Love you both."
