Y/n felt a plunge of jealousy sting her heart as she watched her crush Emily and their good friend Hailey giggle with other. It was a girl's night out and Y/n had been looking forward to this night for weeks. She couldn't wait to see her friends and have fun, drinking.
But now she wasn't so sure. She sat on the left side of the bar, watching as Emily and Hailey laughed, having their own inside joke. She couldn't help but feel a bit annoyed and left out.
As the night went on, the girl basically sat by herself because the other two girls didn't seem to talk to her. I mean they included her in some stuff, but it was never a full on conversation.
Y/n checked her phone, noticing that it was almost ten o'clock. She decided that she should just head home, since she wasn't doing anything special. She flagged down the bartender, paying her tab.
She turned towards the two girls, " Hey um, I'm just gonna call it a night, I'm starting to get sleepy."
Hailey and Emily's attention focused on her. Emily's heart sunk a bit. She didn't want the girl to leave so early, she didn't get to ask her question that she's been waiting to ask all night.
Hailey harshly slapped Emily's arm. Emily's head turned towards the girl. She was about to scold her, but she that Hailey was hinting something to her.
She finally understood what she meant, "I can take you home, so you don't have to Uber." The girl in front of her slightly smiled, relieved since she'd already spent sixty dollars this week on Ubers, since her car was currently being fixed. "Thanks, that'd be great."
Emily paid her tab causing Hailey to do the same. They said their goodbye's, walking out the door. As they wal;led to the car, Y/n couldnt help but wonder why Emily offered to take her home when she'd been giggling with Hailey all night.
But what she failed to notice was that Hailey and Emily were actually talking about how Emily would ask Y/n out on a date.
They were laughing their ideas and their mischievous behavior, not whatever she thought they were laughing at. Emily started the car, questioning if now would be a good time to ask her big question.
She looked over seeing Y/n staring out the window. "Y/n?" The shorter girl, looked away from the window, focusing her attention onto the blonde. "Yea?"
Emily glanced over at Y/n. Her breath suddenly got caught in her throat. Emily's eyes focused back on the road, "Never mind." Y/n hummed a small okay and continued admiring the roads. The rest of the car ride was silent.
