Sanyukta was safe. And so was the little girl.

Her eyes traced the roof where she had seen the hooded figure and she pointed at him with her free hand when she saw him escaping. " There he is. He is trying to run. Catch him!" she commanded the gaurds.

The arrow had caused a commotion among the crowd, forming parts, where the first one ran towards Sanyukta and the little girl to ensure they were safe, and the other half that ran towards the hooded man to catch him.

"Are you alright? " a gravelly voice asked.

Sanyukta noded, pulling away the little girl from her embrace when she heard sniffles. "Hey.. You're safe. Look, everything is alright." Sanyukta coddled her, running a hand over her head gently. The precious child was in shock.

Glistening eyes looked up at her, the fear in them still evident. Sanyukta lifted the girl's lips up with her fingers, causing the girl to smile at her actions. "Brave girls don't cry. "

"I'm a brave girl. I'm not crying. " an innocent voice spoke, little hands rubbing her eyes vigorously. "My eyes were just leaking. "

That drew a laugh out of Sanyukta. "What is your name brave girl? "

"I'm Urvi, Your Highness." she straightened up her spine before bowing deeply as if she had suddenly remembered who she was talking to.

Smiling, Sanyukta rose on her own two feet as she bowed before her, actions imitating Urvi's as she spoke, "It's nice to meet you, Urvi. I'm Sanyukta. "

Sanyukta could feel the weight of a stare behind her back, but she refused to acknowledge it.

Rushed footsteps followed as a woman approached them, voice heaving as she said, "Thank God you're alright. " The woman, seemingly Urvi's mother, drew her in a tight hug before she flicked the girl's back in anger, "What were you thinking? Running away like that? What if you had fallen into that hole? What would have happened if the princess wasn't there? "

"She's just a child. Forgive her. " the voice did not belong to Sanyukta. No. It was the Yuvaraj that had said it.

The women bowed before them both before she she addressed Sanyukta, "I do not have words to describe how grateful I am for what you did for my daughter. I can't even-" she joined her hands and was about to kneel when Sanyukta stopped her hurriedly.

"It was nothing. Do not embarrass me with your gratitude. Anyone would have done what I did. " Sanyukta held the woman's hands in hers', setting them apart so they weren't joined anymore.

"It's just your modesty, Your Highness. If there's anything I can do for you, I'd feel a little better about the situation. "

"Actually there is. " The woman's surprised eyes met hers' as they sparkled with joy. "I would like it if you bring your daughter to the Palace sometime soon. I'd enjoy her company. "
