after an hour or so, chloe's alarm clock went off again. red got up to turn it off quickly and looked back at chloe who was still asleep, she looked to peaceful and red felt bad waking her up. she decided to pack chloe's bag for her to save her a couple of minutes. she walked over to the end of chloe's bed and began to take the books that were stacked next to her bag. as she picked each book and notebook up, she ran her fingers over the cover, admiring chloe's neat handwriting. when she was done she walked over to her bed and woke chloe up. "chloe it's time to get up" she said softly, while gently rubbing her shoulder. chloe began to open her eyes slowly and smiled when she saw red "morning" she said with a big grin on her face. "how are you so upbeat in the morning" red said laughing. "i'm just excited! to meet new people and to take cool classes" chloe said happily. "i packed your bag by the way" red said as she got up to walk into the bathroom "i thought it would save you some time" she finished. "oh thanks..... you didn't have to.." chloe said as her cheeks turned pink. "i know but you looked to peaceful this morning and i didn't wanna wake you.... you still have plenty of time to do your routine though!" red said laughing, "oh well that's the most important part!" chloe said laughing softly.
they both continued on with their morning routines making light conversation and "accidentally" bumping into each other. by around 8:00am they were both ready to leave for breakfast. "come on red!!" chloe shouted, "i'm coming god i just can't get my shoe on!" she said hopping across their dorm towards the door. chloe couldn't help but laugh, usually red acted tough towards others, but seeing her last night be so vulnerable and today even just seeing her struggling to get her shoes on made chloe like her even more.
as they walked down the long hallways of auradon prep red asked chloe a question "so have you seen any guys you think are cute yet" she said giving chloe a playful nudge. chloe's face began to burn up as she let out an awkward laugh "no not really... well we have only been here two days" red nodded in response. "why have you?" chloe added. "well, i have got my eyes on someone" red replied, looking at chloe. chloe laughed before looking away so red didn't see the disappointed look on her face. "who does she like" chloe thought, "and why isn't it be me?"
as they walked into the busy cafeteria red suggested they sit where they sat yesterday "this is like our spot now huh?" chloe asked. "yeah kinda" red said laughing. they both put down their bags and walked over to the counters of food. they both grabbed a tray and to keep up tradition red said "ladies first of course" while gesturing for chloe to go first. chloe began to laugh "wow we're really making new routines aren't we" she asked "well of course" red said joining in on the laughter. chloe went along the line and picked up a couple of items and put them down in her tray. she turned back to face red and noticed she didn't have a tray and instead was just holding an apple and a cup of water. "is that all you're going to get? you'll be hungry" chloe asked with a concerned tone. "yeah i'm just not much of a breakfast person, ill get something at lunch don't worry" she said with a small smile. "okay" chloe nodded but was still concerned about her friend.
they walked back to their table and sat down, red was zoned out and trying to gather the energy to start the day while chloe was full of energy and looking around at everyone in the room. she saw a boy who was tall with dark hair cut into a mullet and is looking around kind of awkwardly. "hey!" chloe waved to him. he looked over and the blue haired girl and his face lit up as he began to start walking over "what are you doing?" red asked. "inviting him to sit with us" chloe responded before gesturing for the boy to sit down, red rolled her eyes. "hi i'm chloe charming!" she said shaking the boys hand. "hey, i'm kovu" he replied letting out a small laugh as he attempted to balance his tray with one hand. "here you can sit next to me" she said pushing over to the over side on the booth-like seat she was sitting on. "thanks!" he said, sitting down and taking his bag off. he looked over at red, anticipating an introduction "red" she said, as she reached over to shake the boys hand. he was surprised with her firm grip and strong handshake. "nice to meet you .... queen of hearts daughter right? my dad is scar, it's nice to meet a fellow vk" he said smiling. chloe began asking kovu about his classes that day and red couldn't help but feel a little jealous, even she could admit kovu was rather charming. not her charming though. turns out kuvo was in the same set of subjects as chloe and red so he would be with them thee entire day "well that's just fucking fantastic!" red thought, as she took a big bite of her apple.

AN: hey guys! hope you're having an amazing day :) this chapter was kinda short but i'm dreading having to write about the subjects so if any of you could suggest some topics they would teach at auradon besides your standard subjects i'd appreciate it! i'm gonna try include some actual vks and aks into this story that aren't already canon in the descendants universe and i though kovu was a good fit! im not sure how he's human considering scar is a lion but maybe he has like a spell on him or maybe he's able to transform like mal or ben im not sure though but you guys can figure it out! anyways thank you as always for the support and ill try have a new chapter out soon! love you lots 🫶🏻 -e
