MELANIES POV
"Morning." I said back.
"Todays the last day of school, do you have any clothes I can even borrow? I didn't bring any. Since I wasn't aware til like 6pm of the sleepover. Y/N asked me.
"Yeah of course." I pulled out my phone, Tiffany added me on Snapchat? I didn't bother to add it back. She would just make fun of me, and why would I want that on the last day of school? I got up and stood next to y/n and pulled out a toothbrush, I set a timer for 2minutes but I guess y/n didn't notice I set a timer, since she got startled once it went off.
"That alarm is disturbing." Y/n told me.
I just looked down and laughed at her statement.
The clock hit 7:50, we gotta be at the bus stop in five minutes. I walked in the bathroom as y/n walked out and I locked the door to change. It took me 2 minutes. So I brushed my hair, put a red bow on, then ran.
"Melanie, wait up!" Y/n yelled.Y/N's POV
I grabbed my backpack not bothering to even properly put it on, I ran behind Melanie. I didn't know if she heard me asking for her to wait up, but she went faster once I said that. I caught up and beat her to the bus stop. We were right in time because the bus was pulling up right when we got there. I looked down to be fully cautious of my steps, there was spilled water everywhere and god knows what type of food spilled from multiple lunchboxes.
"Unsanitary." One of the kids at my bus stop mumbled behind me, I assumed they were talking about the steps. I scanned the room, there was no empty seats, so I had to sit by this random boy. And Melanie sat directly in the row across from me on my right.
"Can I have your number?" The boy asked me.
I looked at him as if he was insane, not even a "hi." "Hello." Or even a "my name is ____"
Nope, none of that just a straight "can I have your number." I wanted to say something that would make him feel as if he was dumb, but 8 should b mature about this situation occurring. He started to look at me as if I was crazy, after all I was just staring at him lost in my thoughts per usual.
"Why would I want to even speak with someone who has a mindset of a middleschooler? No." He gave me a disgusted look, I just gave him a half shrug. I looked over at Melanie, she had a hint of jelousy in her eyes gleaming. Her eyebrows were furrowed but her facial expression went back to normal once I turned to her, the bus started rocking every bump we hit. I was trying to tighten my grip around the seat so I didn't have to worry about accidentally falling on that weirdo. The bus taken a very sharp turn. Finally, we arrived at school. I wouldn't say I'm happy to be here, but I sure am happy to be away from the guy I'm sitting with.
"Let's go." Melanie grabbed my hand as we ran out the bus and slowed our walk down.
"Did you see what just happened?" I asked Melanie.
"Yeah.. and I'm pretty sure half of the bus also seen." Melanie told me.
My expression on my face became an annoyed expression, the least thing I wanted is for people to know about my buisness.
I saw tiffinay and that guy walking. She noticed me turn around and yelled out what she was talking about.
"The only reason she did that if because she's a LESBO." I heard her yell. Of course, she was talking about me. Lesbian and bisexual are two different things, clearly she doesn't have enough brain cells to understand that.
Melanie just turned around for a quick second then turned back with a pouting expression. I don't mind if any makes fun of me, it's the last day of school. They aren't gonna have a hold on me in summer, i hoped.
Time Skip
It's summer break now!
"Yeah, and what shall we do?" Melanie pokes my arm.
"I don't know, my mom wants me to go to camp, but hellllll nooo." I over exaggerate,
"You better not." She says as she clings onto my arm harder
"You're like my only friend." Melanie states.
I just smiled, it was nice for her to say that. But I had no idea what to say after.
"Well, wanna hang out tomorrow?" I ask her.
"Uhh, sure. Text me whose house." Melanie says.
I just nod, and walk off our separate ways, I turned around she was still looking at me, I just laughed to myself. It was honestly kind of cute.
For the rest of the walk to my house, all I was thinking about was her. I finally arrived, and walked up the steps. I heard Jane mumbling, I pressed my ear against the door trying not to make a sound, these walls are like paper.
"She definitely likes Melanie, but we need to do something about it.
I stood there in pure shock, they were on the phone with somebody, I got closer to the door then peeked through the window to check who it was, I took my phone out and took a picture to zoom in. I read the words
Tiffany.
There was no way. I ducked as my mom turned around, I heard my knees crack. "Ow."
I mumble to myself.
I still couldn't believe this. After everything, I thought they would've been supportive of any of my descisions, I don't wanna be controlled for the rest of my life, I'm not letting Melanie go.
"I have some things to show you." I heard Tiffany say from the phone. I turned to Jane. She noticed me staring out the window, we just made eye contact. Oh shit.. I mumbled.
"We are gonna send her to cam-" my mom got cut off by Jane as Jane pointed my direction and I ducked. My mom started walking towards the door, I was gonna get caught. I tried to think of an excuse but the door had just opened, so I gotta be fast with a random excuse. So I'll be working on the next chapter right now, but it probably won't be published til tonight.
I'll also post 2 chapters tomorrow 💓
