Chapter 3: The Wave

 
                                  -Zuma POV-

We drove as fast we could to captain turbots dock, once we got there Rubble parked his rig and waited for us to return with the boat. Ryders ATV turned into a jet ski so he could join us. We sped across the water until eventually we saw Captain turbot splashing in the water and the boat floating upside down.

"Don't worry captain turbot the paw patrol is here!" I said pulling up next to captain turbot, soon after I helped him into my vehicle. "Boy am I glad you guys showed up!" Captain turbot started, "It was so weird. There wasn't a single sign a giant wave was coming" Captain turbot explained as tried to dry him off. "Captain turbot, you are very lucky to be here right now" Rocky said looking at the boat. "Whys that?" Ryder asked. "The whole top half of your boat is gone" Rocky said pointing under the water, "The wave tore off the whole center console too!" Rocky continued. "Rocky tow captain turbots boat back to shore and see if you and rubble can get this fixed" Ryder told Rocky, "Green means go!" Rocky said after he started pulling the boat to shore. You know, I started to think. How did a giant wave appear out of nowhere? I mean from my water knowledge it's not possible.

I mean a big wave can appear but not to where it can't be seen where we were at the beach, something has to be making these waves. I began to make a theory. Someone or something is out there beyond the horizon creating waves, whether it's intentional or not we need to find out who or what is creating it. "Captain turbot, what exactly did you see before the wave hit?" Ryder asked. "Well" Captain turbot explained,

"It's really hard to say because one moment I'm fishing, and the next I see a giant wave in the distance. At least 30-40 feet above the water, I tried to drive away but that old boat wouldn't start. So I hid under the control area until I felt the wave hit. That's when I was sent out of the boat and into the ocean.

Weirdest part is after I swam up, I didn't see the wave again" Captain turbot finished.

"That's really weird" Ryder replied. "Is there anything else that happened?" He asked "Nope that's all for ya". "Hmm okay, thank you for your help captain!" Ryder said. "Let's get you to the shore! That's weird my hovercraft isn't working? Ryder did you do something?" "No not that I know of? My ATV still works though". "RYDER RYDER!! COME IN" Ryders come went off, "What is it rubble?" "RYDER YOU NEED TO COME BACK NOW. THERES A GIANT WAVE BEHIND YOU." Ryder turned around only to see a 50 foot wave coming. "WE GOTTA GO NOW, THERES NO TIME TO GET YOUR VEHICLE STARTED ZUMA, BOTH OF YOU JUMP ON" Ryder commanded. We did so as the wave gained momentum and was moving faster towards us. I'm going to die, I thought. Ryder immediately started to drive full speed away.

He drove as fast as the ATV could. I watched as the wave was coming closer and closer. "RYDER ITS GAINING ON US" I yelled, Ryder put all his energy into trying to get his ATV to go faster.

The wave continued to grow and increase with speed. I watched as the wave grew closer with every inch. There was no way out, I was going to die on my favorite things in the world. Water. If only I got to help Chase with his feelings towards Skye more or marshals feelings towards Everest.

It's too late now, the wave was nearly right behind us. It was about to crash down on us and rip us apart. Until all of a sudden I stopped hearing the noise of fast approaching water. I opened my eyes and realized,

The wave is gone.

-Chase POV-

I stood there, shocked, speechless, I didn't know what to say. I barely processed what was just said to me. Before I said anything both marshal and Skye yelled "What??!?!". "That's right, I love you Chase, and I have for quite some time now. And I'm sure the feeling is mutual the way you looked at me earlier." Now I was confused, I looked at Everest earlier?
