I blink rapidly as I try to adjust to the brightness of the sun peaking through the curtains of the bedroom, I sit up quickly grabbing my phone to see five missed calls from Mingyu and Seungkwan. I let out a gasp, "Shit, I'm five hours late." I whisper. I felt a slight tight grip on my waist, "What are you doing?" his voice is hoarse and deep. I turn my head to see Wonwoo, "Mingyu and Seungkwan called, I'm late for work." I said. Wonwoo sits up, "Relax, Mingyu gave you the day off." He says with a smirk and lays back down pulling me into his chest.
I let out a small sigh and smacked his arm softly, "Yah, I was supposed to be productive today." I said. I rest my head on his chest, "You were." He says with a teasing tone. I blushed and wrapped my arm around his waist, "I still have to keep my promise Wonwoo," I said. "Why?" He asks, I look up at him. "Because Minghao invited me and I can't cancel on him last minute," I said with a small smile. Wonwoo rolled his eyes and sighed, he pulled me closer to him. "Why can't we just stay like this for a while?" He asks.
I smile and trace his defined abs, I bite my bottom lip. "We can...just until I leave to meet with Minghao," I said Wonwoo lets out a small groan. "You are whining a lot." I tease, he smirks and places soft kisses on my temple. "I just want to have you to myself..." He whispers. I let a small laugh leave my lips, I bury my face in his neck. "I feel at peace..." He whispers, I rest my hand on his chest and lift my head. I smile, and I peck his lips. "We can stay like this for a little while," I said wrapping my arms around his waist, Wonwoo chuckled and pulled me closer and tightly.
"Lizbeth..." He whispers I hum in response, "Can I—I can keep you." He whispers. My tired eyes try to stay open, and I yawn. "Only if I can keep you..." I whisper, he chuckles. I felt him press a kiss on my head, and I smiled. I listen to his heartbeat, it is peaceful. Being in each other's warmth and presence, comfort in the world of madness.

I apply lipgloss and let my hair fall naturally, "What exactly is this event about?" Wonwoo asks. His tone is filled with annoyance, I smile and turn to look at him. "I'm not sure...I think it's a fundraising event." I said getting up from the chair, "I won't be long, I'll only be there for a maximum of five hours." I assured him. Wonwoo sighs as he sits on the edge of the bed, I walk over to him, "I know..." He says placing his hands on my hips. I run my hand through his hair, "But?" I ask. Wonwoo rests his head against my stomach, "I'm worried about your safety." He says. My heart flips, I wrap my arms around him. "Don't worry, I'll be okay," I said, he sighs. "I'll send you a text every fifteen minutes," I said, Wonwoo chuckled. "That's not—okay." He says, I smile shyly.
"Trust me on this, okay?" I ask I can feel Wonwoo smile and he lifts his head, "I trust you," He says. I caress his cheeks, I open my mouth to say something but the doorbell interrupts me. I bite my bottom lip and look at Wonwoo, "I'll be back before nine-thirty." I said pecking his forehead. I pat his shoulder lightly, "Minghao is here," I said getting out of his grip slowly. Wonwoo sighs and rolls his eyes as he got up, I grabbed the black velvet coat from the closet. I turn to look at Wonwoo, "Play nice for two minutes." I said. He smiles faintly, "I'll try." He whispers and pecks my lips softly, we walk out of the room.
"At least put a shirt on," I teased, Wonwoo chuckles. "Be glad I'm wearing sweatpants," He says with a small wink. I roll my eyes playfully as I open the front door, "Hi Minghao." I said. Minghao chuckles as he eyes Wonwoo, "I see you've got company." Minghao says with a smirk. I bite my bottom lip and slip into the matching pastel pink heels, I fix the wrinkled sides of the silk pink dress. "I'll be bringing her back in one piece," Minghao says with a playful taunt.
Wonwoo gives him a hard stare, I leave a small kiss on Wonwoo's cheek. "I'll see you in a bit," I whisper, I walk out of the apartment closing the door behind me. I follow Minghao to the elevators, "You're glowing, I guess things between you two worked out." He says. I bite my bottom lip and look at him, "Yeah," I blush. Entering the elevator, I could feel my heart pound with anticipation. Minghao is quiet and lost in thought, I glance at him. I hope he's not hurt by this.
I let a small sigh escape my lips as we got off the elevator and walked out of the lobby. I see the red Camaro parked right outside, Minghao opens the passenger door. "It will be fun trust me," He says as I step forward, I look at him and smile faintly. "Try to get your mind off things for now." He continued and let me inside the passenger seat, I fastened my seatbelt. "Okay," I said, Minghao closes the door. I fiddle with the pastel pink handbag, and my phone vibrates. I hold back a smile seeing Wonwoo's name light up my phone screen.
Minghao drives off from the apartment complex, and I exhale softly. "What exactly is this event about?" I ask breaking the weird atmosphere between us, Minghao smiles faintly. "It's a fundraising event, it's for the resources of youth. An event that will help young folks with their school education such as high school and college," Minghap says as he turns up the volume of the stereo just a tad bit, I nod in acknowledgment as a soft ballad song plays.
A huge luxurious place came into view as Minghao made a left turn, I bite my bottom lip feeling anxious. "Hao...how important exactly?" I ask once more, Minghao makes the car come to a complete stop. He looks at me, "Photographers, journalists, and the city mayor are present." He says with a smile. I gulp lightly as the passenger door opens, a man in a dark velvet suit holds out his hand. I take it and step out of the car, Minghao hands the keys to the man in the suit.
Minghao holds out his arm, I link my arm with his softly. "You could've told me that this event was going to be...important," I whisper as we step inside the glass building, Minghao chuckles. "Don't worry Liz, everything is going to be alright. Trust me," He says and squeezes my hand that clenched to his arm tightly. Soft jazz music made everything feel so unreal, that I stood closer to Minghao.
"Mr. Xu?! So glad you could make it darling," A gorgeous tall dark haired woman exclaims as she approaches us, "Madam Ciao, it's an honor to finally meet you ." Minghao says with a bright smile and greets the woman. "Lizbeth is Madam Ciao the best designer of Ciao's Catalog, also the most popular clothing designer in Seoul." Minghao introduces the woman with such praise, that I smile kindly. "Hello it's lovely to meet you," I said, Madam Ciao smiled and nodded. "I'll leave you two to enjoy the event before we all get started." Madam Ciao says patting Minghao on the shoulder before walking off to a group of presentable group of men.
I exhale softly and look at Minghao, "How much of that do I have to endure?" I whisper to him. He laughs lightly and smiles, "Just until the event is over...Seven hours" He teases. I shook my head and sigh, "Oh goody," I said. Minghao fixes a loose strand of hair, I look at him. "People will get the wrong idea," I said, his eyes darkening. Minghao gazes at me with an unreadable expression, "It's not our job to clear the air for journalists who don't know how to read the room." He says before grabbing my hand softly. Minghao walks me to a table of fancy-looking men and women. I really shouldn't make any single mistake if this event is important to Minghao.
