The moon reflected onto the ocean, which was seemingly crimson red now. It looked... beautiful. As I walked, alongside the coast, thoughts raced in my mind.
If have enough ego, you'll become stronger because you're feeling that intense desire to achieve something.
In a society where success is and worth is measured by how much you win against others, you're bound to lose if you consider your emotions.
My chest boiled at every moment. Technically, I can't use the toxic energy from what my former friends said. That didn't matter anymore. They can go sulk about when I win.
'I don't lose to donkeys like them.'
The slender brunette figure turned to face me the moment my footsteps were loud enough in her proximity.
"Serena," I called.
"Oh, hey," she responded, a mix surprise and sympathy. Our eyes met, and a blush crept onto her face. She stared at me for another second, and a strange look etched on her face. Her smile narrowed and her eyes averted from mine. She scanned me entirely, as if there was a stench of impending doom.
"Is there...something wrong?"
I gulped. No there's nothing wrong.
...
There is mothing wrong.
....
There is. Nothing. Wrong.
...
"I...," I opened my mouth, but nothing came out.
~ a month later ~
Apparently they say if you've crumbled down once, your body is weak... but recently, I've realised that my old friends have exploited their social media platforms just to post footage of my loss in past leagues. I wasn't sad this time though. Rather, I didn't feel anything. Well, I did. But it wasn't sadness or trepidation.
I'm in a gym currently, training to get stronger. After all, the only one who can help me, is me. And of course for Greninja's sake.
It was after my 9:00pm morning workout routine as I sat on a stump in the park as I recalled my last long conversation with Serena. It wasn't one of deep talk, but simply a small exchange of questions. At first, it was those feelings of trepidation that conquered me to the point of breaking, but now it was a feeling of relief as the grey clouds that shrouded my mind was now demolished by my will.
Something was definitely wrong.
I found myself at the same coastline again, walking across when I realised the brunette was following me. "Ash," she called.
"Hi... Serena."
She stopped infront of me. "I wanted to talk to you."
"Oh? What is it?"
"I was... wondering... if anything's wrong recently."
"Nothing's wrong," I lied. Well obviously that's not true.
"I'm sorry, I refuse to believe it. But I'm concerned because I'm your girlfriend. You seem harsher to yourself recently, and your demeanour has changed. What are you onto right now?"
"..."
"I know this league is coming again in the next few months, but you really need to take care of yourself," she lectured.
Should I tell her?
"Serena," I said, staring into the dark ocean.
"Yes?"
"What if I tell you... that I'm going to do this to...kill someone?"
