They were silent during the car ride, Wonyoung being on her phone the whole time while Sunghoon focused on driving.

His eyes occasionally strayed to the beautiful woman next to him, but he needed to be on track.

He needed to investigate places.

Starting with her house.

Swallowing his pride, he smiled at her.

"Hey, Wonyoung, have you ever read a book called 'The Blackthorn Key' by Kevin Sands?"

He asked her.

He usually hid his hobby of reading as it didn't match his hardcore military job.

He found it embarrassing, but couldn't help but carry on with the habit.

Unaware of where this conversation was headed, she put down her phone beside her in the drink container.

"No, I haven't. I find reading alright, but usually don't get time to pursue it,"

She smiled politely.

Sunghoon nodded slowly, biting his tongue from remarking.

Because you were out completing secret missions for some shady business or something?

He muttered in his head.

"You should read it. I read it once a couple years ago, and it was really good. There's a whole series of about seven books or so,"

He went on to explain.

She nodded and listened attentively, finding him talking about something he truly cared about very attractive.

At the end, Wonyoung smiled.

"That sounds amazing,"

She spoke in awe.

And she knew she wasn't only talking about the book.

His voice was soft but demanding, almost like a silent scream.

You don't hear it, but you feel its significance.

It was like his voice.

Soft, but worth it to listen to.

Her smile widened as she looked out the window, humming a random tune that came to her mind.

Sunghoon turned to her.

"What song is that?"

He murmured, almost as if he just woke up from a nap.

Wonyoung shrugged.

"I don't know. I just...came up with it, I guess,"

She looked at him with a small smile.

His eyes widened.

In that moment, she looked prettier than she'd ever looked before.

Her eyes were soft and warm, her lips moist and red.

Her words practically a whisper.

He couldn't help but blush.

Thankfully, they were at a red light, else Sunghoon would have probably crashed the car.

Focus on the investigation. Not the target.

His mind screamed, but his heart had fluttered one too many times.

Blushing, he turned back to the road.

He needed to control his need to go to her house and take her tonight.
