For once in your afterlife you awoke early, bright-eyed and bushy tailed. You were practically buzzing with anticipation as you pranced to the shower and danced under the water, singing to yourself. Today held so many hopeful promises- fucking brunch with the radio demon. You were so excited you could vomit! You took your time doing your makeup, smoking a blunt as you worked your art. Perfect cat eye with a little bit of white on your lids fading to a shimmering lavender. You didn't really need lipstick (an extra perk of your poison lips), but you added a dark crimson gloss in the center of your lips and sealed it with a clear shine to add a sultry bloody effect. You decided to leave your hair to air dry so as to allow wavy curls to form.
You blew yourself a kiss in the mirror, and your shadow pulled away to give you a kiss on your cheek, nibbling their way down your neck and shoulders. You giggled and settled the shade down. You should apparently masturbate later- you looked so damn good that even you wanted you. At least you would feel confidence in one thing during your totally-not-date.
You walked to your wardrobe to pick an outfit- brunch is supposed to be a casual time for friends to drink and feast merrily, so definitely something loose. You settled on a black flared day dress with a wide white V-neck collar, a tie knot at the center. At your hips was a wide white band to match. You felt nostalgic in the flapper dress, admiring the way the silhouette fell on your body. You decided to add a pair of short black gloves and short black strapped heels to the ensemble and looked to your clock.
It was time to go if you wanted to be there 5 minutes early. Any other person and you'd be comfortable being late, but with this particular person you wanted to impress. You snapped your fingers and your hair styled itself into a low side-bun, the waves of your hair framing your face perfectly. Time to go!
The walk didn't take long at all, but the closer you came to the large building your heart rate began increasing. You took a few grounding breaths, hoping Alastor wouldn't mind you toking up before you left. You had reached the door and were surprised to find it opening for you. The face that met you was a shadow- you'd seen it leave Alastor a few times over the years, but you'd never seen it so close before. It kind of reminded you of your own shade.
"Thank you, sir," you smiled brightly to the shade and earned yourself a happy chitter. You felt your own shadow chomping at the bit to meet the other, but held them in, reassuring them that you'd give them time to meet once you caught up with the demon attached.
Walking into the lobby you noticed a bar with a sleeping demon and Angel sitting and drinking across from him, talking to Alastor beside him. When the man turned to look at you your heart skipped a beat, and you took a small breath before stepping up to the three.
"Good morning, my dear! What a lovely vision you make in that dress!" Alastor got up and met you halfway, taking your hand and spinning you around to flair out your skirt. You let out some happy yelps and wagged your fluffy tail with the compliment, which seemed to catch the demon off guard. You giggled at the concerned look Alastor gave you.
"Don't mind my yappies, your flattery has made me quite happy! And good morning to you! What a pleasant surprise to see such dashing gentlemen before I'm even awake."
"Heya Vixy! I'm glad you guys met, I had a feeling you'd get on like flies on a carcass," Angel greeted you with a hug that lifted you off the ground.
"I couldn't believe this is who you thought about asking to be my scene partner! No offense, sir," you direct the last bit to Alastor. The two demons stood stock still, the third rousing from his slumber.
